I was wondering how many mom's were breastfeeding and how long the plan on doing so? My son is 2 months and one week and I still am.

Quoting Aimee:

My son is 10 weeks old and we have had a really hard time BF.  I have been pumping and giving him a bottle since the begining (and BF only in the middle of the night).  It's really hard though.  I have gone back to work now and pump while I am at work.  I send the milk I pump at work to the babysitter with him so he can still drink breast milk.  It has worked great!  I plan to take it one month at a time until I reach my breaking point. : )

Hi Aimee,

I am exclusively pumping for twins born on Dec. 9. You're amazing to think of taking it one month at a time. Each day I wonder if I can do this for another day. Of course I'm writing this message while I'm pumping. :-)

My baby is now 12 weeks and we've done nothing but breastfeeding from day one. I never imagined it being so difficult. I had cracks for 9 weeks and two yeast infections, I decided at 6 weeks to give up on one side b/c it wouldn't heal but once it did I got it back and now I think it's safe to say we have it down! After all that... I plan on breastfeeding at least a year.

I am breastfeeding and initially it was difficult and I was hoping to make it to 2 months.

But here I am almost at 2 months and it is much easier and I love it. So now I plan on doing it as long as I can. I go back to work when she is 8 months, and I hope to keep it up for a few months after that.

Eli is 8 weeks and we've been a breastfeeding machine since day one. lol. I plan on breastfeeding him until he's a year.

I understand what you're saying about it being hard to continue breastfeeding when you go back to work. What I would suggest is starting to build up your supply of refridgerated and frozen milk by pumping once or twice a day when your milk is in most (usually early morning and late evening). And remember, they won't always need to breastfeed as much as they do now. And you can always give him formula when you're at work and then breastfeed him when you're with him.

Braxton is 7 weeks and I nurse and feed him formula. I plan on doing till he is at least 6 months. If it's working out good for you you should go as long as you can.

I was thinking a  year to. But I'm just not sure. It seems like its going to be really hard going back to work and still trying to breastfeed.

I am breastfeeding as well. My daughter is 7 weeks, and my plan/hope is to be able to continue until she is about a year old.
