Carpal Tunnel

Hi, My name is Anna, just joined this group. I had my first bub by Ceasar she was 9lb3oz and after over 24 hours labour. I have suffered from wrist pain since late pregnancy, but recently have found it getting worse as Annika gets heavier. Has anyone else had this problem, have you any advise to easing the discomfort etc. Cheers Anna

I developed carpol tunnel about 5 months into my pregnancy. The pain was really bad and my hands and wrists swelled. I wore special wrist bands designed to help with carpol tunnel and they helped but still had constant pain. I was told to try doing hand exercises and keeping your hands higher while you sleep. I would def. go to the oc and see if they can help. Thankfully after I gave birth it wasnt so bad. It still bothers me from time to teim but not nearly as bad as while i was pregnant. Hope you can find some relief!

hi I ironically had carpal tunnel synd before i gave birth ! I was given wrist supports to use, which helped a bit, but mine went after i had my daughter (i got them from my hospital)

Hi, I have really bad pain in my left wrist which is also getting worse as my baby gets heavier. It sometimes gets "stuck" and I can hear it click as I get it to move again, it is really sore. My GP just said it was wear and tear and sent me to physio who gave me a splint to wear at night. It makes working with, eg winding, holding my baby a problem. I am going to see a lady my mum gets accupuncture from this week to see if she can do anything to relieve the pain.

I would get the doctor to check it out - if its around the joints it could be a little high blood pressure (I got that the last few weeks of pregnancy) I didnt know what to do with it either. Mostly I just lived with it but occassionally I tried a heated pillow which worked for me while it was still warm.
