Is anyone else combining their baby's 2nd birthday with xmas? We have been strongly contemplating it. We have no family around us so a party probably won't happen for our son ( it was a disaster last year). I feel guilty for doing it but i don't think he'll really even know what's going on.

I don't see anything wrong with combining them. Our son will be almost two this Christmas also, and his birthday is the day after. We're currently living in Japan, so we wouldn't have any family to celebrate it with either. I'm with you on the guilt though; our compromise is just to save a gift or two for the next day, and I'll probably make a small cake.

My son and I both have birthday's in December, and just like my parents did for me, I make sure he has a seperate birthday party and Christmas. If you don't start doing it now, it will be harder to try and seperate them later in life. Because everyone will think that it is okay to only get him one gift, instead of two, which if you have other kids, will make him feel left out.

My son's birthday is December 12. Last year he had 3 birthdays. One in October the night before his father deployed (he was 10 months) to Iraq, One on Thanksgiving when my mother came for a visit (she also left me with his XMAS gifts), and one on his actual birthday with my IL's (who also left us with his and my other son's XMAS gifts).

I also demand NO XMAS paper for birthday gifts.

I also have a son that was born on January 4th, so XMAS is gonna be hard once again.

My son's birthday is the 26th. So we have Christmas on Christmas morning and then a birthday party on the evening of the 26th. He will be two this year and his first birthday was a blast! We had so much fun and he was amazed at all of the things we did. I can't wait until this year when he will get it a little better and know what is going on!!!

PS I live in Ecuador and my family has to make a special trip. I don't have a ton of friends here either, but my husbands family and his friends make sure to make things as special as possible for us!

My son is the 27th so im with you too haha.... we do have quite a bit of family around here so last year we told everyone we were bringing a cake and balloons and people brought him a gift for Christmas and one for his birthday... i try to split the presents too we start shopping in july haha so we do a christmas and then save a few big presents to open on his actual birthday... my mom was born in december and she always complained about them getting lumped together I however was lucky and was born in june so every 6 months i got a special day so i have decided that i would share my birthday with my son too. December in Ohio sucks haha so in june we take a family trip while its nice and call it his "Very Merry Un Birthday" It works out well and we all get a nice day out together

Never and her birthday is 5 days before Christmas. She deserves her own day, but Christmas is a religious holiday for us.

At this age I dont think he would really care, my son was born the 23 of december so i know your trouble! I think I am just going t do something special for him when he gets older in the summer like a half birthday or something, because he will always get jipped!!
