My son will be 3 in Dec & he still has a bottle. To be honest I'm not that fussed about getting it away from him. It makes him happy, so I'm happy, lol. Everyone does stuff at different times:)

They are ready when they are ready. My daughter still has a bottle, maybe twice a day. Its a source of comfort for her. If I put milk in her cup, she will say "no" and push it away. Its very odd, but its something she does. People have been frowning upon it, so I have been trying to hide it LOL I am hoping that with her baby brother coming along shortly she will change her ways. Were going to try and tell her that babies get things like bottles and diapers. She is so good at catching on quick and sharing. So we hope she will give up the bottle and let her brother have them.

I had a baby after my 2008 baby and to be honest ill let him have his bottle as long as he wants it.. I think that when they are ready they will let u know :) good luck!

My little girl has not had a bottle since she was 11 months old. If you want to try a transitional sippy, NUBY makes one that is one cup with three different spouts a nipple like spout , regular sippy spout and a sport straw. This is what we used at bedtime with her for a few months ater doing away with bottles. It gave her the comfort of the sucking action and was still a sippy so we could just move to the next spout as she became ready.

I was wondering the same thing bec my son turned two Dec. 27th and still had the one bottle of warm milk just before bedtime. I was so afraid he wouldn't go to sleep without it. He is fine with sippys and straw cups all day with juice/water and sometimes milk (still a challenge with milk which is another reason I kept bottle on). I finally took it away last weekend after buying a new softer spout sippy so it wouldn't be so different. It is touch and go! one night drank a bit next night nothing. Last night gave warm milk in a regular take and toss sippy cup and he was fine with it. So I lucked out in that he didn't mind not having the bottle... Now for the pacifier in a few months EEK haha good luck everyone will do what's right for their child :)

At one you should have taken them away. The 'bottle fairy' came on my son's first birthday and brought him big boy cups. He uses the ones with straws and we are still working on drinking from a regular cup (he is Autistic so it is difficult) but that needs to go. It will start effecting his teeth. Stop cold turkey, he will get thirsty and use one.

My daughter still has one in the morning and one in the evening before bed. We got into the habit of giving her them again during the day while she wasnt well but have cut back again. When she is ready we will get rid of them - but it comforts her and it doesnt hurt anyone so we arent in a rush to ween her off the last two. How important is this battle to you?

Never be ashamed of what stage your child is at, they're all different! I'm still trying to get rid of the pacifier and bottle but my son has to have the pacifier to sleep including naps. It's hard, but again, they won't be drinking bottles in preschool!

I read all the comments and once again realise that everyone is unique and every parent do what he/she think is best. I am no shy to say that my daugter still LOVES het bottle. I am not worried, as long as she is off the bottle when she goes to grade 0 LOL

my dr. suggested adding just a little bit of chocolate to the milk and put it in a sippy cup... it worked for my son... something to do with the flavor of the milk and what they are used to... my son hasnt had a bottle since he turned a yr old

my twin girls just turned 2 and they both still have their before bed and wake up bottle. Im not worried about it at this stage, but plan to reduce the amount of milk gradually that they have in the bottle until it is not worth having, then hopefully get rid of them all together.

my daughter is 2 now. she insists on having milk in her bottle. she will not drink milk from a sippy cup. the same she would never drink juice or water from a bottle. she has one at nap and bed time. as well, when she isnt feeling well she will have more if she isnt eating much. she had been sick a couple months ago, and wouldnt take the bottle. we thought maybe she was off them. she went 9 days with no bottle. but then started asking for it again. ugh... she has never had an attachment to anything really. like a blankie, soother, stuffed toy, etc. so i think her bottle is her safe thing. i try to hide the fact she has a bottle still because i feel a bit ashamed. but i dont want to take away that one comfort she has, you know?

My little guy stopped drinking his bottle at 15 months. We stopped cold turkey and he never even missed it. However, he still drinks a sippy sometimes when he is falling asleep.

dont tell anyone but.. my daughter turned 2 dec 1... she still has one. She drinks out of a cup most of the time. But she wants milk in her bottle and has to have it before bed and before nap. And if she is sick she will only take a bottle and not eat. I dont think I know how to get her to bed without it. I was doing really good for a while and she could only have water in it. But then she wouldnt drink milk at all. And the bottle makes it really easy to put her down. I know its wrong. but... I dont care. It makes us both happy. And I know she wont have it when she's 16 so its ok.
