Does your december baby crawl?

yeah, my december baby is crawling but this will make you feel better, she just started yesterday and i promise the day before she STILL cried about being on her tummy and hated it....she never army crawled or scooted or anything and just yesterday she up and crawled out of nowhere like she'd been doing it all along, so when your baby is ready nothing will stop him and if he's not ready nothing will make him do it, they are already their own person as you know

ladies who place their babies on their tummys are really stupid: the reason it is recommend for babies from birth to be place on their backs while sleeping is to help prevents SIDS sudden infant death: By placing your baby on their back allows them to have a clear airway that can & most likely be blocked when on their tummy.... millions of babies have been saved to breathe another day by parents placing their babies on their backs...This link between tummy sleeping & crawling is wrong it likes when you say that circumcising boys will prevent AIDS or STD's tell that to the millions of circumcised boys who have die from AIDS or STD's but we don't like putting two & two together cause we don't like to think we are wrong and this time ladies sorry but you are...Wrong!

Nicole (Aparicio) its funny you say that bc Aaden has been rolling all over the place for the last month and half! I was really surprised how fast he can get...its too funny! To turn around and see him rolling across the room to get to something he so desperately wants cracks me up! lol

yes but we need to teach him how in sit down & shut up... he is in everything & doesn't stop blabbling....blab blab blab blab all day but don't think it's stops when he asleep, he talks in his sleep too well at least we know he is still breathing... :D

Mine just turned 9 months and just took her first two real "crawls" yesterday...It was so cool to see her put it all together. Then she got frustrated and laid on her belly and complained. I think she is slower on moving because we end up picking her up "a lot" when she cries instead of making her work it out. We are trying to get better about it. Just remember each child is an individual and do things on their own schedule.

my son was born dec 2. he is commando crawling but really whinges about it. he is not pulling himsef up on things yet either. he loves standing. i hope he crawls before he walks.

My son doesn't crawl, he rolls. I was beginning to wonder if anyone else's babies were crawling yet, and after reading through these posts I feel better! Even though he doesn't crawl, he still gets to where we wants to go. I'll sit him up and he'll flop to his belly and start rolling everywhere. He tries to pull himself up but can't quite make it. He's not talking, just babbling: dadadada, mamamama, bubububu... But I think he's starting to realize that I am "Mama", he's been saying it while reaching for me, so cute!

Aaden started crawling around the end of august and says mama, dada, and baba. For a long time he would to the "swim" on his belly and then all of a sudden he went to his knees and then it was curtains after that. within a few days he was on the go!

our grandbaby ali hates tummy time too she'd rather stand and try and walk than try and crawl she also does the face plant gets frustrated and roles over.

My little girl is crawling and pulling herself up to stand she has been crawling since 6mths. But she is my 3rd and my other 2 started crawling at 8mths. Every baby is different but you need to keep putting him on the floor to play as hard as it is to hear him cry it is for his own good because in that frustration that is how they learn to make themselves move. It won't be long and he will be going everywhere and you will be asking how do i stop him!

Every baby is different however, I guess my daughter was early on almost everything she has done so far. My daughter started crawling a week before she turned 8 months. and is into everything! She pulls herself up on everything walks along the table, couch, ect and is letting go when she stands up and is standing alone for about 10 seconds before she falls and laughs. She is saying moma, dada, and bye bye. Hope this helps like I said she was early with all 3.

my son was born on 3rd december & is now 9 months old. when he was little he never used to like "tummy time" but since he's learnt to roll over & play on his tummy he's always on his tummy!! he also cant crawl yet but does the "army crawl" & is actually quite speedy & it!!

My daughter has been crawling since 6 months. but keep in mind, babies move at their own pace, and theres no "right time" for this to happen.

my baby boy was born 23rd of december, hes just as lazy! doesnt crawl or even roll all he'll do is sit up, he also doesnt like to be on his belly for more than 2 mins

He started off army dragging and then went to a crawo then to a bear walk. He pulls himself up on everything and can walk where he wants to by cruising. He can stand on his own for as long as he wants and then when he can't anymore he lets himself down controlled. This, I have heard is VERY early for a boy, a little early period. He does have a very active sister (Jan 12, 2007) to try and keep up with which I think makes a huge dif.



I have a friend that her sone didn't walk until he was 18 months and most around 12 to 16 months. In the long run I feel it means NOTHIN! My daughter walked the day before she turned 10 months and I see no dif between her and some others that walked later. Don't sweat it, I wouldn't. He will go for it when he is ready and don't think you are dong something wrong blah blah. Every child is different so just relax about it and go with the flow.



Our son is pretty vocal. Lots of belly laughing, sceaming and starting to ma ma ma and da da da.



Just have fun and enjoy yourself and don't let others childrens progress compare to your sons. I know some people feel better by making others feel poopy!

Yes my daughter was crawling at 7mths(she loved tummy time) and she pulled her self up on her knees using the sofa for support for the 1st time 2dys ago.My newphew hated tummy time and didn't start attempting to crawl untill he was at least 10mths.Every baby is different and ur son will get there at his own pace.Dont worry he will be fine and as long as he is happy thats all that matters.

my baby girl started crawling at almost 8 months and i was sad about that! She is our last baby and did want her to start until her big sister did which was at 8 1/2 months. As for talking she babbles alot and tries to say ma and da.

My son Ethan was born Dec 19. He has been crawling for 1 month now. It is the army crawl. He is starting to pull himself into standing position, but falls over easily. He has been saying Da-Da for a few weeks! I am personally waiting for Ma- Ma! I agree with what others have posted, every baby is an individual and he will start when he is ready!! I don't think you need to be too concerned.

my daughter was born at the end of dec and she does not really crawl yet. she acts like she is going to but the she lays flat on her belly. we are gradually getting her to spend more time on her tummy so she can crawl but she doesnt really like it.

Every baby is different and there is a VAST difference in ages when babies start to do things, my son started crawling about 2 mo ago, BUT he couldnt sit up for the longest time, it took him much longer than that to sit up, some babies may do some things sooner or later,



as my aunt says IT WONT BE ON THEIR RESUME lol, just enjoy your baby and let them develop at their own pace,



however if you are concerned about his development or that something may be wrong, take him in to see the dr, they may want to do some tests and if there is something wrong maybe they will catch what ever it is early on and be able to help before its too late.



Just a couple things to think about.



Oh and when I say start, I mean he would get up on all fours and rock back and forth, like he was revving his engine or something, some say the army crawl but my son looked like he was "swimming" accross the carpet, lol, and he LOVES glasses so hubby put his glasses accross the living room on the carpet, and I had never seen him "swim" so fast accross the carpet as when he was going for those glasses.



Sorry sorry sorry, one more thing, sometimes they will fuss when they are trying to get the hang of something new, but sometimes you have to let them fuss a little bit so they can struggle through it, I DONT MEAN let them cry and scream, thats not what Im saying but just a bit of fussing is normal when they are frustrated because they want to do something and they cant quit get it.

Our little guy just started crawling 2 weeks ago....but not all babies crawl, some just skip crawling all together and pull themselves up and start walking all of a sudden. My son didn't like tummy time much either until he felt more confident with it....we just let him do whatever he was comfortable with, not pushing him but encouraging. When he started the crawling position he did it "combat" style with one leg under his tummy and just kinda dragged himself then he started pushing himself backwards then progressed onto all 4's and crawled all of a sudden. He babbles lots and always has been a talker. Just remember that all babies develop at different rates, whatever works for them!!

Shawn mastered the army crawl around 5 months and a week after he turned 6 months he took off crawling and have been chasing him since!

My daughter was born in Dec. & doesn't crawl yet either. She gets on her belly & scooches around where she wants to go till she gets stuck & can't move anymore. My son didn't start crawling till he was about 10 mos. They do it at different times. Just give him time. Both my kids never liked to be on their bellies either. Every child is different. Now after a while if still no crawling you should talk w/ their doctor.

she has been crawling since 6 1/2 months, and 2 days before she turned 8 months she started climbing the stairs (scary!!!) however, she doesnt have any teeth yet, occasionally says mama, and cant/wont say dada no matter how much my husband tries to teach her. like most have already said, babies will develop at their own pace, its still normal for them to not crawl yet. (i kinda miss when she wasnt so mobile!)

My daughter started to crawl in july she was just about 7 mo old. it started as a scoot/army crawl. i too thought she wasnt going to crawl, she always wanted to stand with everything instead. some baby's dont crawl. she just turned 8 months, and she is on the move. she is starting to walk along furniture and she mombles alot she says mama, and baba. every baby is different, he will get it soon, dont worry.

Don't feel bad my daughter doesn't crawl either. I think she just wants to be lazy and held all the time. All my kids were the same way...they never crawled but, will start moving soon enough and then you will wish they never did. Lol! Don't worry every baby is different. Im sure he is fine.

I thought the same thing with my daughter (being lazy). It was rolling over that took her forever. She hated being on her stomach also and some may think it callus, but I'd let her fuss. Not for a long period of time, maybe 5 minutes max. Eventually, she got tired of waiting for me to do it for her. Every baby is different. Physical Developments such as crawling, sitting, standing etc. don't reflect how they will develop mentally. :D No worries.

Don't worry your baby will start moving soon! I have a december baby and yes he crawls and almosts walks but I also have a 19 month old that didn't budge until 9 months or so, she would just lay there on her tummy content to watch the world go by, All of sudden she started moving and watch out once it happens and they realize they can move they never slow down!

No, my son doesn't crawl - but he can play on the floor on his belly for quite a long time. He's rotating, and moving backwards :-)

Talk? No way! He's like "bababababa"all day long, but no words yet.

My LO started crawing and standing at 7 months but I have learnt that all childen develop at different rates. I thinks my son was just impatient! I have many friends with children of 7/8/9/10/11 months who are not yet crawling so don't worry, he will in his own time. As for talking my LO only says da da da da, I think mummy will be a long way off.

My little guy is crawling (if you can call it that). He uses one knee and one foot, but he gets around the house pretty well like that. He just started about two weeks ago or so, but it didn't take him long to get mobil once he got the hang of it. He is also pulling up on furniture or whatever he can grab to help him get to a stand. He has a 2 year old sister to keep up with which I think motivates him to get mobil! Your little one will get there when he is ready...they are all different and go at their own pace!

My son likes to be in his walker more than on the floor which is fine for a little while then he starts running over your toes :).....so I put a blanket on the floor with some toys and him on his stomach to encourage him to crawl. This worked well for my other 2 boys, and guess what??? After about 3 pretty strong weeks he just picked up and left!!! Ha!! Now, I have to put him back in the walker or in the crib bc he won't stay still!!! Be careful what you wish for:) In all fairness, all my babies are different and when yours wants something "bad" enough, he WILL GO FOR IT!! Lotsa Luck

Hey my baby don't really crawl but she do move around on her belly i was starting to think the same.I though that she should be crawling by now.But sahe do say a couple words like mom,dad,nan and pop but thats it thoand that was like a couple weeks ago she started to say words but i think its cuz she gets it from her brother....

My daughter is a mid-November baby (i.e. 9.5 months now) and still isn't crawling. She refused to spend a significant amount of time on her belly until she was nearly 8 months old. She actually sat up before she rolled over (@ 6 months). She can bounce on her bum to get around very slowly, or roll over and over...but so far she's a bit of a chicken when it comes to crawling. She can get into the position from sitting on her bum, but quickly does a face plant if she tries to to forward at all. It will come it time I guess. But it sure is hard to see all these other babies her age (or younger) crawling already. I guess I should count my blessings that she's not mobile yet, and I can still put her down on the floor to play and go into the kitchen to make lunch or go to the bathroom. Once she's mobile I'll have to put her in a playpen every time I leave the room!

My baby boy is crawling backwards more than forwards, but he preferes being on his feet trying to walk like his 4 older brothers, he also babbles says dada and mama loudly and blows kisses and waves, I think this perhaps is because his brothers are there for him to learn off.

I'm sure it won't be long and your little boy will be off x

my son Gavin just turned 8 months yesterday. he is very talkative, him and daddy have yelling matches, its so cute. when he is on him tummy he does the creepy crawl but only in reverse. it pretty funny actually.

Yap, my 8 month son is crawling. Started out one day by getting on his fours, then after one day he started crawling back wards, after 1 or 2 days he is now totally on the move.

My son was born dec 3rd, he always hated being on his belly like your son he used to just scream. Just last couple of months he has started playing on his belly, by his choice I still can't lay him on it, he either nose dives down onto it from sitting or he rolls onto it from his back. He still doesn't crawl, he goes backwards and round in circles and he can pull himself up to standing using the furniture but all of this has been since he decided to start playing on his belly. Give your little one time he'll do it when he's ready, I always thought my little man would not crawl at all the way he hated his belly and some babies don't do it at all they do go straight to walking, don't think you have anything to worry about.



Someone else raised the point about girls being quicker at these things and I think thats so true my niece is a dec 21st baby so younger than my son and she's been crawling for ages now, she's near enough always been ahead of him, there are odd little things he's done first but not much, girls are just more independent I think whereas boys do love their mummy's and like looking after!



As for 'talking' my lil boy has always been vocal but he seems to go through quieter stages and more vocal stages. He says mama, dada, nana and numnum (which I think is yum yum and is def connected to eating) but just because he's saying mama doesn't mean he's made the connection and calling for me everytime, sometimes they're just sounds he's heard and learnt to replicate. Honstly baby's are so different, it's no good comparing them, don't beat yourself up, the fact that you care enough to ask and be concerned shows you must be a good mum.

Holly has been really forward with everything she was crawling at 6 and a half months...sat up at 5..and has just started pullin herself up to stand...altho my son was different..i think its true that boys are lazier than girls..but i also believe babies develop in their own time..I have a friend whose son didnt sit until nrly 10months old and started crawling a week later

My baby started crawling 3 weeks ago, although I thought he would walk first. He hated tummy time and started pulling himself up on the coffee table and other things about 5 weeks ago. I'd be patient. Babies do things in their own time. Just yesterday I was comparing my son to another 8 month old. She would clap and hold her own bottle. My son will not do either of those things.

nope! when she's on her belly she pushes herself backwards with her hands but once she's had enough she'll just roll over. if she's sitting up she can do a great bum shuffle across the room. my cousin never crawled she just bum shuffled everywhere. your little boy will do it when he's ready.

hey there, yes!!!! my son just started crawling about two weeks ago. i thought he would just start walking because he loved to stand. he too hated being on his belly he would sit, move to crawling position, grab a toy and go back to sitting. one day we were at the library for a sing songs and rhyme class for babies and on of the other babies left a book on the floor out of his reach and he went for it! as for the other question, he is just babbling.
