I swear that when my son went to sleep last night his pajamas fit him and that he had outgrown them by morning! My son is 12.5 weeks old and going through what I assume is a sizable growth spurt. This is my first child and was wondering if other moms have had a similar experience.
For the past two weeks my son was waking once per night, for the past three nights he is back to eating twice a night. He is quite a bit fussier than usual and not sleeping as well during the day, which could very well be the root cause of the fussing! What I don’t understand is why he isn’t napping as well (and I am pretty sure he needs the sleep he looks tired and is cranky), do babies have growing pains? His nursery has the blackout shades, white noise machine etc.
My son was consuming on average 27 – 33 ounces of formula per day, for the past three days he has averaged 37 – 40 ounces. He is a long (75 percentile) and lean (25 percentile) baby. I have tried several soothing techniques before giving him additional formula in an effort to avoid overfeeding. Has anyone else experienced a similar spike in formula consumption? If so, does 37 – 40 ounces seem excessive?
I am interested to hear what everyone has to say!
