wow. I guess that's why everyone says my daughter is so small. She weighs 17lbs and is 27in. She still wears 3-6 month clothes but fits in 6-9 also. 9 month clothes are still too big.

Your not alone Hannah!!  My little girl is aprox 16 pounds and is still wearing some 3-6 month clothes and some of her 6-9 month stuff:o)  They'll catch up eventually!!

My daughter weighed 16lb and was 27 inch at her 9month check up. The dr said she was fine, just dainty. My son on the other hand was huge at this age. Kids are just different. My only problem was them both being 8lb 11oz at birth so I bought some of her clothes a head assuming she'd follow the same pattern as my son and then they didn't fit in the right season. Learned very quickly not to assume when it comes to kids. =)

i know all about that... my son is now 10.5 months old(dec.18) and he weighs 17lbs and 3oz... when he was 3months old they were sending him to the specialist because he was so small and his head was little.. had me scared to death that something was wrong.. sending him for ct scans and everything... just to tell me that he is just going to be a small baby.

My son is 25 lbs and 32 inches at 10 months. He's a big boy! He wears a size 4 diaper and 12-24 month clothes. I bought him a bunch of 12 month size longsleeved shirts last winter on clearance and I'm hoping it'll stay cold soon so he can wear them before he outgrows them! And I'm worried all the 18 month size summer stuff I bought him on clearance this year won't fit next year!

My daughter was 23.6 lbs and 30 1/2 inches at her 9 month appointment. The dr said she's the size of an average 18 month old but healthy and strong! He said there's nothing to worry about and to be happy she's so big and healthy, and I am!!! Sometimes I wish she were still my tiny little newborn, but other than that there's nothing wrong with her size!!

Ha ha. My daughter is just turned 10 months and she is 19.10 lbs and 29 1/2 inches. She plays with another baby that is almost exactly a month older than her and my daughter look huge. They may be a bit bigger than most baby's but they might be the most healthy. At least that is my opinion.

I do! My daughter was born 12/20 and weighs 22lbs and is 32.5 inches! She doesn't look chunky at all but looks more like she's around 12+ months, not 10. I'm very proud to have a big baby!

My girlie is 29.5" and almost 18 lbs. and she's totally healthy, too! If people tell you she's too big, then they can tell her to stop growning. Somehow i have a feeling she'll ignore them and do her own thing anyway... babies have a tendency to do things on their own schedule.

My son wighed in at 27+ lbs and 30.25" long at his 9 month checkup. He's been EBF this entire time with the addition of homemade baby food starting at 5 months. He only eats when he's hungry and our doctor isn't concerned so I just let people's comments slide off me.

I guess I'm in with the smaller babies then. My little one just turned 10 months and when I had her weighed last (about three weeks ago) she was 18lbs 12ozs. She is wearing mainly 6-9 month clothing, PJ's are still 3-6 months but yes it does depend on the make. I am told by many people that she is big but I see her as just the right size, if not a little petite.

My son was born 4 weeks early on 12/13/08, and he weighs about 18 lbs. He is very energetic and goes everywhere. He may eat all the time, but exercises it all off during his playtimes. When is it time to move to the other car seat?

[deleted account]

My son just had his 9month check up 2 weeks ago. He was 19 pounds 13 oz. and 27.5 inches long. She said he was in the 50th percentile. I haven't had anyone tell me that he was too big. So I wouldn't even worry about it.

My daughter was the same.  Born 4 weeks early at 7.2 pounds.  She was 20 pounds at her 9 month check up.  She is now bigger than other babies we see and people have always told me she is big.  But like you say...she is healthy.  We are blessed that our early babies have come out healthy.  Don't let people bother you by their to big comments.  :)

my son was 9,6 born so he is alot bigger than an average say 7lb baby. he weighs around 22lb but he doesnt look big at all compared to other babies yes but he is a normal happy weight. once they start walking around and moving more the baby fat will dissapear, dont worry too much. every baby is different x

Our daughter is almost spot on with yours. People say her legs and arms are big but her tummy isn't really large. I'm not too worried because when she starts walking it will fall right off of her. I'm learning not to listen to what others say :)

lol my son (10 months old) has been 24 pounds for the last four months! he is just now 30.5 inches long, and always in the 97th percentile in weight and height and everything, and my doctor says there is not one thing wrong with that

My daughter weighs 19lbs 6oz and is 26.5inches (she is a shortie, 10-20% for height) and all the fall clothes I got her (12 months) are waaaayyy to long. She wears 6-9 and 9 months for clothes. She looks really chubby though because she is so short. Crawling everywhere is thinning her out though :)

My daughter is 33 inches and 22 lbs! As long as the doctors don't have any concerns about your baby's weight than she is fine. All of my babies have been big and people have always made comments.

When my older son was 3 months old, we went out to eat and my son got crabby. I had a woman come up and tell me that I should let him crawl around on the floor and he wouldn't be so mad. To which I told her he didn't know how to crawl yet, her response was "that is because you hold him all the time". At this point I was almost in tears. I looked at her and said "no, it is because he is three months old!" She had thought he was at least six months.... He was about 18 lbs and well over 22 inches long at the time. LOL

Do those people that say that about your baby have babies the same age? I think people tend to forget what their kids looked like at that age and that all babies grow at different rates. My daughter will be 10 months old oct 7th and she weighs 18lbs 8 oz. I dont know her height but she is tall. Her dr. has never said that she was overweight. Just go by what your dr tells you and ignore what people say.

My daughter was born 12/11/08 and weighs 19 lbs, 3 oz and is right at 30 inches long. She is wearing mostly 12-18 month clothes and people are telling me she looks SMALL for her age! But according to her doctor she is in the 75th percentile for everything. She was born 3 weeks early weighing 6 lbs, 2 oz, but my doctor said if she would have gone to term she would have been close to 8 if not more. She was also a twin and I had to carry her deceased brother to term so she didn't have much room to grow, hence the reason she was early!

my son was born on dec.31/08 and he weighs 25lbs 6 oz and is 31 in. long...so i think it all depends on the baby. He was 9lbs 1oz when he was born ...and he has always been big for his age.

[deleted account]

My son was about that much at that age, he's slowed down a bit, but he's nearly 40 lbs at 3 now, and about 3 1/2 feet tall. My daughter is tiny though, she weighs 15lbs now but everyone is different. I wouldn't worry too much.

My son at his 9 month check up was 22.5 lbs and 29 inches long. I asked his pediatrician if he was too big for his age and she said that because of his height his weight was fine. Don't let anybody tell you that she is too big...all babies are different and grow at different rates. If her Dr. isn't concerned, and you aren't concerned, tell people to mind their business because quite frankly they more than likely aren't qualified to say whether she is too big or not.
