Hi Mindy, My son will also be 12 weeks old tomorrow and I bathe him 3 times a week as well, however if he accidentally spits up too much I give him a bathe accordingly. He has very dry skin so I try to make sure that it's only 3 times a week for now until the weather gets a little more humid. My doctor has assured me that as long as you clean the face, hands and genitals, then that's fine in between baths.

We bathe J every night as part of our bedtime routine. We do a bath, then put on our PJs and sometimes read a story if he isn't too tired.

I give my little one a bath 2-3 times a week. Usually in the morning, the night time baths do not really make him sleepy. I have a 5 year old that needs a bath every night, so it's hard to fit in my shower, my sons bath and the babies bath all into one night. Doctors do not recommend you bathing them any more than 2-3 times a week anyway.

I was giving my daughter a bath every night, she loves it so much she kicks her feet and hands all over the place, its too cute...but then her skin got very very dry like sand paper...so i had to stop that for a while, and now i have to give her a bath every other day and i just wipe her down on the days she does not get to take her bath....her skin is getting better now,  I have been using vasline and baby oil to keep her moist.  I think it has to do alot with the cold weather now.

I don't think it's necessary to bathe them any more than 3 times a week because they don't get "dirty" and "sweaty" like toddlers. But we are bathing our 9 week old almost every night so that he recognizes a pattern. He knows that he gets a bath, then a bottle, and then he goes to bed. It's at the same time every night. So his body is used to it. In turn, he sleeps from 7:45 PM until about 6 AM the next morning, non-stop. So, I would get into the habbit soon of doing a bath every night. That way, when she is a toddler and is getting dirty and needs the baths...she knows the routine!

My daughter is 12 weeks old. Ive ben giving her a bath about every other day since she was born. I keep her wiped well in between to be sure shes clean. Just make sure you get in the folds like under the chin and the underarms, and behind the ears! She loves her baths now, she kicks around really well, and I get half a bath while were at it LOL Daddy has yet to give her one, hes afraid she will slip or something... I just think he likes that he gets out of doing it. What a guy!

Thanks for all the advice..i just wasnt sure about if i was bathing her enough..i bath her in the morning though when she wakes..she actually, well luckily sleeps amazing at night..our routine is changing her, putting her in her pjs, then giving her her nightime bottle in bed with me in the dark with the tv on, the laying her down and rocking her..and she sleeps a good 6-7 hrs a night before waking for a bottle..then goes back out for another 2-3 hours

I give my 9wk old son a bath twice a wk, when you've only got the one its quite easy to give them a bath every night but when you've more its alot harder, i've also a 17mth old boy...plus i personally think giving them a bath which aids them sleeping better it makes them and you rely on it a bit.x

I give mine a bath every night too. It's a nice evening routine before bed. She has a bath, has her last feeding of the night and crashes almost immediately.

I do it about every 3 days. I love bath nights because he falls asleep so quickly, he gets so relaxed. That's a good suggestion, just a water bath to relax him. I would give him one every night to help him fall asleep, but was worried about drying out his skin. Thanks for the tip Jaime, I didn't even think about that!

I am bathing my son nightly because it is Summer here at the moment (I'm in New Zealand). It is very warm during the day so it is nice to wash him early in the evening. I also find that it is good for his routine - feed, bath, cuddles then bed.

I usually give my son a bath every other day, unless he needs it otherwise. He also loves his bath time. Kicks his legs like crazy!!

They say 3-4 times a week is plenty. The soap can dry out their skin, and since they really aren't doing anything that gets them dirty (except drinking milk!) they don't need a bath everyday.

If it helps with sleeping, you can always just give her a water only bath every night before bed.

I give my daughter a bath nightly. She loves laying in the warm water and I believe it helps her sleep better!
