Is anyone else having trouble with their 16 month old loss of appetite?

My daughter does the same thing she will barely eat one day then will eat tons the next. I think shes just too busy for eating!! lol

My daughter does the same thing. I have found the best way to deal with it with her is to keep snacks available during the day. Cheese, grapes, crackers, yogurt bites, those puffed fruit things. Anything I know she will eat a few bites of. I usually have been trying to get her to eat as much breakfast as possible, then she snacks most of the day, I try to cut her off about an hour before supper so that she will eat good before bed. That and her 3 glasses of milk a day and she is consistently maintaining and gaining weight.

Toddlers snack. They usually don't sit down long enough to eat a meal. So just keep healthy snacks available.

Thanks for your responses...her appetite has picked up a little since i posted this...i think it's definitly a phase she is going through...she actually ate most of her breakfast this morning for the 1st time in a week...maybe it was her teeth too! I am trying to be a little more creative with her meals instead of giving her the same thing everyday...hopefully that will work. :)

yes! il give him something and he will eat it then the next day he wont and just shake his head at me. He used to love some foods and now doesn't touch them. Some times im scared he isn't eating enough! =S

my daughter is like this also some days she will eat and eat and eat and other days she won't eat much at all, tho ive noticed my daughter would rarther eat little and often then have 3 meals a day and a snack between so maybe try that little and often also maybe teeth my daughters teeth are sore and hurting her too x

yes my son also has the same problem , he eats wot he likes and wen im thinking god thats not enough ,there is nothing u can do except let them eat wen they need or want to, the doctor told me ,if they are not hungry then dont force feed them,,put food down in front of them if they want it they will eat, even if its just a sandwich, or a yoghurt something simple, its doesnt have to be a big meal,,if she hasnt got her appetite bk and u are starting to get more worried then go see the doc ,but babies having milk with rusk is gud for filling them up and my son has that a lot still so he wont starve and i dont think ur little girl will starve either, as i said ,just put it down in front of her, hopefully by the time u walk away and come bk she will have eaten it,,

Yes it's a stage my son went through the same thing. And now my daughter is doing it:( Even though I know its a stage it still bothers me. I can't get my daughter to eat anything thats good for her. But yesterday grandma gave her an apple and she ate the entire thing so I'm getting me some apples today!!! Good Luck I don't really like the stage of not eating:(

My daughter picks and chooses from day to day! Sometimes you'd swear we starve her and other times she just won't eat. As long as she doesn't loose a lot of weight I wouldn't worry:o)
