Hey Ladies! Our children are going to be turning one pretty soon, and I was wondering, what are the toys that are "must-haves" for your one-year olds? I would like to get some ideas!

we got our daughter a lot of floating bath toys && a little puzzle she can play with in the tub. if you kid likes things with noise, get one of those ball poppers or a xylophone. my daughter loves making noise && bright colors. : )

What is it about these December babies, most of them seem to be walking early! My other 3 all started walking around 1 but this one was on the go at 9 1/2 months and I am seeing a lot of other mums of December bubs saying the same. Magic of december mabe?

we are getting him a tent/tunnel combo, a couch that turns into a lounger, a vacuum cleaner that makes vacuum noises and abc song, and chuck the dump truck. he loves his big brothers cars. he has been walking since he was 9 months so there isn't much to get him that way. i wanted to get him a ball pit but my husband said they all are plastic and will pop very easily so the pit is a no go (sob sob) o well maybe we can just get some balls instead.

Would have bought a ball pit but my mother beat me to it and bought one for Christmas so I got him some little people cars (he loves his big brothers ones) and a little tykes basketball hoop as he is walking already and loves balls.

Wow, this is so funny, I am also getting my daughter a ball pit for her birthday! I see from all the posts that this is a very popular choice! We are also getthing her a cabage patch "baby" doll, because it is a really good size for her to carry around (she likes to take her cousins doll all over), and a teddy ruxpin bear that reads books to kids, I had one growing up and loved it, also it's mouth and eyes move and that is really cool since my daughter LOVES animated toys like that, also tons of books!

I really hate plastic toys, but my son (who is now almost 4 1/2) got one of those busy ball poppers for his 1st birthday & it was the best toy ever. Even now he thinks it's hysterical & so does my daughter who will be 1 on Christmas Eve.

Empty boxes and tissue and wrapping paper! I had an "almost" first birthday party for my son and the wrappings were more fun to play with than the toys! But my son likes books with simple words and pictures. And he got a ball pit that he LOVES!

I got our daughter an abacus - the bright beads are fun to play with for her now - and when shes ready they are a great tool for them to learn basic math later:)
