My son calls himself Kaden...and everyone and everything else is Kaden too.

When he hurts himself, my son says: "I hurt yourself!". Apart from that he's actually quite good with "I", "mine", etc..

My daughter only says "you" when she is saying "I got you". She really doesn't say "me". About the only time she does is when she is standing at the top of her slide and says "see me?!" Lol, so cute.

My son only calls himself by name when he sees himself in pictures or in the mirror. But he doesn't bother using it in day to day activities. It's always "juice please", or "snack please". I wonder when he'll start referring to himself as "I or me".

Mine calls himself by name... "Payden is walking down the stairs all by himself", "See Payden and mommy's reflection"...etc. and when he sees a picture of any baby he says "Dats Payden there" it's cute...but I'm starting to wonder if he will ever stop referring to himself in the third person...heheheheh!

My son does that too. When I point to his picture or to him and say "you" I try to make him refer to himself as "me." Seems confusing to a kid his age though.

My daughter will name everyone but when you ask her what her name is she looks at you like I know my name points to herself and say "me" but once in a while she will say her name.

My daughter calls herself me but can't get the hang of 'mine' and always says 'me's' instead. So cute!

Its funny that you mention that because I went through the SAME thing with my daughter a few months ago. It is just a phase, you just have to start saying their name more. But I did pointed out pictures, and I would be like "thats you". and she would look at picture or herself in the mirror and say "you!". But it was cute, and short lived. lol

My sons is an only child and is 21 months old. He calls himself, "The Baby!" It's always in a very happy, very exciting tone! My son hasnt really ever changed in tha face and has always had a grown up toddler look, and we arent around babies much for him to say this! Its cute though. Another fun one is when he eats, he is always polite and offers us food too and says, "You take bite!" How can you refuse!!?

haha the never ending cycle of misunderstandings... there still so young that they will forget all the silly things we mess up and teach them wrong !! My son looks at his pictures and calls them baby haha but he was a chunk so it really doesnt look much like him any more! practice makes perfect so bring on more pictures he'll get it all figured out!

I'm having similar "fun", my boy is saying "No thank-you" even when he actually wants what he's been offered. But he has however gotten the hang of the word MINE.
But as most children under six will do, iif it's right 80% of the time then 'tis all good.
As my 3 1/2 yearold said after being asked just when she'ld bitten her tongue "Did you bite yourself"
Her response was "No mummy, I didn't BITE myself, I BIT myself".
