WOW I think you are very brave to have 4 kids. I only have two and can hardly cope. So, pat yourself on the back for being superwoman and seek help immediately. Nothing to be ashamed of, and you have 4 wonderfull human beings relying on their mommy to be well and provide a safe and secure environment. Goodl luck and all the best!

I had it with my daughter but was put off by the doctor because I didn't have the "classic" signs. My signs were frustration, anger, crying and just feeling overwhelmed and like I was a bad mom. I guess I said all that to say even if you don't have the "classic" signs but feel something is wrong don't let your doc put you off...I did for 3 weeks and looking back I wish I had pushed harder to get on meds b/c once I did I felt normal again and I know it was better for her because I could be a better mom.

Hope you feel better soon!

hey Klarisa,

i too had severe depression with my first baby and now i work with mum who are diagnosed. if you have had pnd already you risk is increased doesnt matter what number baby it is unfortunately. The symptoms can appear up to 12 months after the baby is born, feeling overwhelmed is a big sign.

i understand how you are feeling, go see your gp for a proper check up and diagnosis and take it form there, your gp will help you work out if it is stress ie you have 4 kids! or if you need to be monitored.

i was monitored very closely during pregnancy as i had a bad turn, but so i have been ok, it is scarey when you know already the expereince, i didn't want to go back. it turned out this was my stress.

if you need to chat at any time i'm here

take care of you
