My daughter was 3 months early and we are having a bit of touble with her. she is almost 12 months now and i still cant get her to eat solid food properly any ideas? she is also suffering rom asthma (at least the specialist thinks so -waiting for treatment) So we are affraid there is a lot of allergies to go with it cause so much food sets her off and upsets her :( I am running out on ideas with her she is also lactose an tolerant :(

My daughter started eating rice and baby food at 4 months. I breast feed her with no supplimenting till she was 6 months. She stopped breastfeeding at 9 months and I had no problems with formula or food. BUT at 11 months she stopped wanting rice, baby food and anything solid. I've tried everything! She hiccups or gags. It's been going on for a month now! It is so frustrating because she is small and only in the 8th percentile. Oh well, i'm making sure she gets what she needs. I hope it's a faze. Your definetly not alone :o(

She might have an oral aversion to the different textures if she had an ET tube and OG tube for extended periods. I have heard this is not abnormal. I actually work in the NICU, so really only know the babies up until we send them off, but I would just keep offering her different things, she will eventually get it figured out. And make sure to just add one food at a time like one per week (like I'm sure you have been doing with the whole allergy issue.) so that you can easily distinguish which foods she is allergic or sensitive to. I am not surprised that a 24 week ex-premie would have a sensitive stomach with everything she has been through. Has your ped. recommended a GI doc or allergist Doc.? that might help? My daughter doesnt eat solid foods by her self unless I feed her, she'll eat when she's ready my daughter also was 2 months premature and it's gonna take some time she's behind all the other babies but she will catch up. My daughter doesnt walk talk nothing she just learned to crawl a couple months ago. My daughter also has asthma, and gets sick a lottttt but like i said she'll grow out of it. My first one was lactose intolerant but she hit 1 1/2 and was not anymore it was weird. I hope the best for your daughter.
