Just interested if anyone is mixing and veggies, fruits or both for their little ones. My daughter loves green beans mixed with sweet potatoes and peas mixed with bananas. Just looking for other kid tested combos. :)

so it's ok to mix the fruits and vegies together? i was just going on what i would eat and i don't think i could handle mixing apples with anything!! :) i actually managed to get him to eat sweet potato tonight. i thought it was great and we had finally got past the spitting it out phase but later he had the most revolting nappy ( it went everywhere! :( ) does that mean that i shouldn't give it to him again or is that normal when they try new things??

Have you tried carrot and apple or parsnip and apple just to get him used to the taste? My little girl hated carrots at first but then I mixed them with parnsips and the above and she is eating all sorts now.

i mix apple sauce with rice in the morning but am in the process of trying to get my son to eat vegies. he won't eat any and screws up his face and gags on what ever i put i his mouth. yet loves fruit or custard. because he won't eat any vegies i havn't mixed anything but maybe i should try.

I gave up worrying because I got frustrated that Lily woulnt take her rice cereal no matter how I made it. I just picked up some jars of food at the shop to see if she would take anything else and she loved it! That was it for me - I am cautious when I introduce foods that are more likely to give a reaction but other than that I figure shes unlikely to have a reaction and if she does i will worry about it then. I also have the advantage of nurses in the family and living near a hospital so that gives a certain peace of mind.

Quoting Ariane:

mashed advocado, banana and some baby rice cereal (And a bit of cooled boiled water) is a hit with my son. also i mix potatoe and pumpkin together.

These sound really good (I would even eat it!), I'm going to have to try this!

I only mix fruit with his cereal in the morning so far. He will only eat rice cereal plain. I also mix meat in with cereal sometimes at dinner. I haven't tried mixing too much together yet because I'm still going through the process of figuring out if he's allergic to anything. When did everyone stop worrying about this? I would love to know because I feel like he'll be fine now to try new things on a more regular basis. I've been introducing only one thing at a time and waiting three days to introduce another new item.

The only things I've mixed were putting fruit into her cereal some mornings if I had some left over from the day before. To be quite honest it never even crossed my mind. Maybe I'll give it a try. :)
