For those of you that have posted about wondering why your 7-8 month old isn't doing something. Don't worry, they will, sometimes babies take just a little bit longer than others. I have a 4 year old also and it seemed he would never sit up or crawl. He was close to 8 months before he started to try at all with either and he was 14 months before he could walk. Never get discouraged, plus, it's just more time that you have without them getting into EVERYTHING!

My son Dylan was born on December 30th, 2 weeks early... He was just over 9 pounds.. He's now 18#4oz and started scootin on his belly at 5 months and could also sit up. at 5 1/2 months he started being able to get to the sitting position by himself from laying on his belly. At 6 months he started trying to crawl belly up and mastered it at 6 1/2 months. He also started pulling up on the couch, crib, low tables, people, anything he can reach at 6 1/2 months. He loves to eat fresh banana's and peaches, cheerio's, and crackers. He started drinking from a straw just before 6 months, that amazed even me! He's now been saying "bu bu" which is his big brother. he has 2 teeth, one of which was in 5 days before he was 4 months old. He's early on most things and average on others.

Riad was born on Dec. 21, one day after his due date. He has two teeth on the bottom, with two more coming in on the top (according to the doctor). He can hold his sippy cup & bottle. I mash potatoes or carrots and put it on his highchair tray; he's able to pick the food up and put it in his mouth--although it gets messy! He has perfected crawling and tries standing while leaning on to something--but it looks like that might take some time. We traveled a lot throughout the past month and a half and since then he went from eating any pureed food I gave him to not wanting to touch it. He gets a disgusted look on his face when I feed him any food... he prefers it mashed as opposed to pureed... the doctor said his change in attitude towards food might be due to the traveling and once we get back to normal routine, he should be okay... I hope so. But he certainly doesn't eat three solids a day... is this okay? Any suggestions? He does sleep through the night though... he may wake up once or twice, but then cry himself to sleep for about a minute or two.

Natalie was born Dec 31st born 2 weeks early. She can crawl really fast..put herself into a sitting position and put her self back down to crawl. She pulls herself up on everything and cruises furniture. She just started letting go and standing for a few seconds at a time, then grabbing back onto whatever she was standing next to. She has NO teeth..is EBF and only eats cereal and Gerber Puffs. She wakes 2-5 times at night. She drinks from a sippy cup and a straw. She is a very serious baby but will laugh at any animal or her brothers or sister..go figure...lol

My little man was born dec 5th and can sit, crawl, pull himself up, has 7 teeth 4 on bottom 3 on top, sleeps all night and is having 3 hm meals a day with dessert and drinks 4 8oz bottles a day.

sleep all night
roll over both ways
sits by herself
crawls
stands up everywhere

im sure there is more but id have to think more about it.lol

My son is 7 months old, he can roll over both ways and has very good hand eye co-ordination, he can sit up by himsef only for a few seconds, it seems that he is just to lazy to do it by himsef and even when i hold him up he starts slouching, he doesnt sleep through the night either and doesnt seem interested in food, it seems i have the most difficult baby when everyones else's seems to be doing everything, am i doing something wrong??

My lil girl is now 7 months and she can roll over both ways, creep around, hold her own bottle, sit without no support, from her knees, she can get to her feet half way, hold onto a surface and stand up, say babba,, almost dada, sleeps all night even while cutting her first tooth, laughs like no tommorrow. I love her so much.

Audrey can sit by herself and roll over from back to tummy and tummy to back. She does not crawl but she goes from sitting position to crawling position and then she tries to stand and ends up on her tummy(and gets very mad). she kinda scoots backwards when she does try to crawl. She can pull her self up on my leg or with my fingers but not on the crib or anything. She was born 3 weeks early on Dec. 23, 2008.

My boy was born Dec 8th and still isn't crawling or pulling himself up. I was going through all your replies and it seems like most of the girls are crawling and the boys are still scooting. Wonder if there is something to that???

my daughter was born dec 17th and she is sitting up by herself...she can go from sitting position to crawling position...can crawl...shes trying to pull herself up in the crib.. she sleeps all night long from 730 till 7 in the morning. and she says ma ma

My baby was born Dec 29th. He does the army crawl throughout the house. He wasn't much for trying baby food until the past couple weeks and now he is loving the stuff! He is a great sleeper at night. He naps during the day, but doesn't have the schedule that my first born did, which is sometimes frustrating for me. He has the bottom 2 teeth and from the way he's acting the top ones will be coming soon.

My daughter was born on dec 12 and she crawls like crazy and pulls herself and can walk when you hold her hands she also can hold her own bottle and sippy cup and love any kind of food, she eats stage 2 jars and all the graduates snacks but she doesnt have any teeth she has been teething since she was 3 months old and i think her teeth are about to come up because she wont let me touch the inside of her mouth anymore and if i get in there she cries a lot

I use the teething tablets also, they work great for my son.  I have even done the wet frozen wash cloth.  Oralgel just never worked for my son.

My son was born December 13, he his sitting up on his own. He is getting ready to crawl. I am getting ready to put him on stage 2 foods. He has two teeth on the bottom is starting to teeth again, we may be getting the top two next. He sleeps through the night, sometimes he wakes up a 6am or he will sleep until 8 am. He is also already holding his bottle. Kids just grow up to fast.

Finn was born December 6. He sits on his own, scoots all over the place (he's FAST!), pulls up and stands when holding something, sits unassisted, can climb up one steop, can walk holding your hands, and says "Dada". And of course he rolls like crazy. He does not sleep through the night, take a sippy cup, or eat solid foods. He has 1 tooth.

I was told that infants don't need meat this early, especially if they are still getting the iron from breast milk or formula. hmmm, I'm not sure...is your child teething?

yea thats what i do in the morning her get a jar of food and a bottle then luch he get veg and fruit and dinner he get a meat and fruit

Personally I would feed him three meals a day(my doctor to at this age) a jar of fruit with cereal in the morning, 4 oz bottle before nap time, cereal in the afternoon, then a veggie in the evening and an 8 oz bottle before bed. Also, try teething tablets(get them at walmart or other retail stores) they dissolve before your baby has a chance to swallow them. If he does have a low-grade temp from teething give him a half a dose of tylenol before bed and if he wakes up again because of pain give him the other half dose.

Elijah was born Dec. 15, he sits up on his own, he rolls back to front and vise versa, crawls front and backward, walks holding my hand, says da and ma, he can hold his own bottle and cup, he has 6 teeth(4 top 2bottom) and eats stage three babyfood and table food. From what the doctor said, he is at about a 9 month level or higher. :)

my baby was born dec. 27th ! but she was 3 weeks early. but now can roll from back to belly and belly to back.. sit up on her own. She has slept all through the night since she was 3 months old. she eats stage 1 and 2 foods. and she likes to try big people food to haha, she loves her baby cookies though!! She has her 2 front bottom teeth also
