I was wondering what everyone was doing for their child's 2nd birthday party. Like what theme they are having and stuff. My son Dylan loves Train's. He says Choo Choo all the time. Even if its a semi or not. So I think thats what we are going to do. But I also need to keep it budget friendly. We don't have alot of extra money due to us getting married in July of 2011 and I recently just lost my job... Any ideas? Also I want to hear what you guys are doing.

Choose the Thomas and friends party Theme. For buying inexpensive supplies, there are many online party supplies stores such as MyBirthdaySupplies that sell discounted products. I am not sure if they have this theme but you can search their store to see the options.

It's hard to figure out what my son likes/dislikes. I know he likes his prized possession that is a monkey blanket/pelt that he carries around. So maybe a monkey theme. He was born new years eve so we have some time to think. I'd also like to keep it as cheap as possible because he won't remember and we are expecting again in the beginning of December so there will be added expense there. Oh so much to think about.

I think we are planning to do either The Imagination Movers or Toy Story. My son LOVES both.

I did "Cars" (movie) for my son's 2nd bday and I am planning a princess theme for my daughter's 2nd bday. Hope that helps. (I googled Cars stuff or whatever and found the plates, cups, napkins etc...)

After some debate and the fact that my son seems to LOVE every new thing he is introduced to, I've decided to go with a monkey theme. He's consistently liked them. I'll hand make the invitations and decorations, so it won't be too much money for those. We get little trinkets to put in the goodie bags from the dollar store. Grandma will most likely make and decorate the cake. Our guest list will definitely be smaller this year than for his 1st, but it should still be fun!

I do believe we're doing a princess/prince theme for my daughter's 2nd Birthday. We're also planning to do the party at Playtrium:o)

My son's birthday is Christmas, so it is hard. We are just going to stay home and have a cake and nice dinner in the afternoon and let him open some presents after dinner. I think we have a little time before he realizes how bad the timing is for his birthday.

My daughters 1st birthday was HUGE! We had about 90 people there, it cost us heaps! This year were just going to have an afternoon tea with close family and friends. Last year we had an Abby Cadabby theme, this year she is really into The Wot Wots, but we cant find any birthday themed Wot Wot things anywhere. Last year we imported everything to New Zealand from America. We are going to go with her 2nd choice of Barney and import again this year. Its soooo hard to find anything cool for birthdays in New Zealand!

We stick with the theme of birthday for birthdays. I love balloons, cake, party hats, old school activities. No need to have a theme every year, esp for a child who will not remember it. Like weddings, I think the event is theme enough and speaks for itself if you are creative.

My daughter loves anything her big brother does, but I'm not sure I want to have a digger party for her 2nd birhtday! She also loves horses, so I think we will follow that through and have a farm theme. We will actually be interstate visiting family for her birthday, so my sister is hosting the party at her house. There will probably be some sort of craft activity (maybe making an animal face mask out of a paper plate and other bits), and will definitely play pass the parcel for the bigger kids. Not sure yet whether it will be a horse cake, or a whole farm with plastic animals on it, we'll see how inspired my sister feels.
