Changes in Baby's Cues

I have been practicing E.C. with my now 5 1/2 month old for approx a month on a part time basis. To start, I offered him opportunities during all of our transitions. We also spent some time daily diaper free on the floor playing. Shortly after we began, I learned that he became a little fussy before going. For a few weeks, we were very in synch. I was able to read his cues and catch most pees during the day.

Lately, he has stopped cueing me. He will continue to go when I offer him a well-timed opportunity. But I'm experiencing more misses because he has stopped "fussing" before a movement.

Has anyone else experienced a change in their baby's cues? Any advice for how to stay connected?

I've been ECing with my daughter (12 mon) since she was 2 weeks old and there are many times when cues change or seem to disappear altogether. I've found that during the times when her cues aren't obvious to me, I rely more on timing. Eventually I'll pick up on her new cues and we get back into the groove again. Hope this helps!

We are going through the same thing. I hope someone responds with words of wisdom for us!
