Hi all,
My almost 5 month old son has been ECing for a couple months. Our first plane trip is coming up. We will be bringing the bjorn potty. Any tips on ECing while traveling by plane and then car? How did you and your little one handle it? Thanks!

We took the potty but it really didn't work out. I mean... So she's pees and poops in the potty. NOW what?! I have to wait in line in the back holding it, praying that we don't hit turbulence... where then we... A sit with in our laps until the seatbelt sign is off or... B possibly spill it!!
Plus, those little sinks are tiny for rinsing the potties out. You have to use wipes to clean them up. I just found it to be way too much. We took a plane internationally at 6 months of age. I put her in disposables for the trip and only put her on the potty at the airport, not in the plane.
You can always take the potty on the plane with you. I will our next plane trip. But don't be hard on yourself not using it. There's so much involved in flying already.
We also have the bjorn btw.
Car trips are easy for ECing. We had a set up in the back of our X5. But you can also put the potty on the seat in the back or on the floor, front passenger - those are the easier places I figured out. Make sure you have wipes ready in case of a poop. :D

I see that you are bringing the BBLP - I can't beleive I missed that the first read. I think that will be perfect for taking in the car- I kept mine in the car the first 2 years of each of my kids lives. But since airplane restrooms are so tiny you might want to look into a cushioned seat cover for the plane trip.

Having not done a plane trip I can only think of suggestions- no real life experience. Bring a cushioned potty seat. Hopefully it will fit on the airplane's toilet. We put Dylan in cloth diapers for our 8 hour car ride (which ended up being 10.5 hours with a baby!) when she was 3 months old just in case. However, everytime she woke up to nurse we offered the potty too and she never wet the diapers.
