Scrapblog.com is a user friendly in-expensive place to go to create if you are looking for an online program. They also have this awesome search feature that lets you search through all the papers and embellishments quickly and easily to find what you want. You can edit your photos right as you create. And their printing costs aren't too bad. I haven't ever used them to print so not sure of the quality. But they are a big site and I am sure it is good. I have only created pages there in the past to use on my son's website. I did save them as jpg files and printed them as 4 by 6 at my local photo lab and they turned out great. I am more of a paper scrapper really. But I do now have Photoshop Elements 7 and have found there are endless Freebies to be found online to use to create with. And there are also many tutorials to help you learn how to use Photoshop to create. The only downfall I have found is that it takes time to find and download what you want...and even more time to organize them to make it easier to find what you want when you are creating. But it is nice to be able to reuse embellishments without having to pay money to buy them again! :) I would be happy to share my freebie finds and sites with anyone that wants! :)

I had the exact same problem and now with 3 kids, I don't have much time. I have tried several softwares and this one is the best and easiest to use - www.mymemories.com It works on both PCs and Macs and you just drag and drop. Here is a coupon code for $10 off, so it's much cheaper than other software - about $30. You can actually download it so you can use it right away too. Just type this in before checkout. STMMMS6349. You will get the $10 off and another $10 coupon for their design shop which has a ton of stuff! I complete pages in minutes and can make them unique to the picture. Goodluck catching up!

When I originally posted my reply, Stampin Up offered only 1 version of their software. Starting July 1st, they offer a great new option. You can still get the full software in CD format with everything included, or you can get the Express Software for less than $40 in downloadable format. (I love instant gratification) It does not have all the digital content/stamp sets included, but it has enough to really get started and see if you love the program as much as I do! You can also get a full content bundle, also downloadable, or purchase additional stamp sets, paper, emebllishments, etc, a la carte so you can build up only what you want and need. They release new My Digital Studio products every Tuesday, so there is always something new and wonderful to look for. I recently did 500 hybrid wedding invitations for my niece using My Digital Studio and cardstock and they were incredible! I love the quality of the finished product, and how easy it is to use. I also love that I can create a digital slideshow, DVD, or CD to share my completed scrapbook right as easily as I can print out pages. I can also export pages seperately to post on Facebook or email to friends and family. I can even load them into a digital picture frame for another neat twist!

To learn more or to buy the program, visit my website, http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/scr... or my blog http://scrapingandstamping.blogspot.com/...

As always when you buy the software from me, I will send you my getting started tutorial lesson, and be avaialble to you for training updates, and any questions you have about the software. I also offer a Tips and Tricks to help you integrate non Stampin Up digital Stamps and Embellishments into your fantastic new software.

Happy Scrapping!

I love Stampin Up!'s software called My Digital Studio. It comes fully loaded with paper, stamps, punches, and embellishments to use digitally. it has templates and photo layouts to do drop and go books, or you can completely take control and do it yourself. I love that I can make many sizes of books, cards, and even calendars. I have made headers for my blog using MDS too. I really like making hybrid cards and I will be doing my own photo Christmas card this year that will be way cheaper than buying it from the studio.
I did an entire year of our family (34 pages) in a week in May, and printied my copy, then send a digital slideshow version on to my mom and my mother-in-law. I could have added video, or music if I wanted. It really is an amazing program.
I am putting a link to a quick video about the program. I have tried snapfish, My publisher, and walmart, and ended up dissatisfied with the lack of control, and the end result, so I am really happy using this software-plus I get an undo button, and I never run out of paper. I also can use any font on my computer, and I don;t print out pictures anymore, which is a money and space saver!

here is the link.

I also have some example on my blog of books I have done for myself and friends.

have fun and happy scrapping!

I have really liked blurb.com . They are MUCH less expensive than most other sites I have visited for printing bound books with many pages and they provide their own software for free (booksmart). The software is quite simple to use. It can be as quick as drag your favorite photos and drop them in the pre-made layout they provide. You can also create your own layout with the program that you can save to use again in the future. They also provide a few elements and different backgrounds and themes for you to choose from, though their selection is not as extensive as other digiscrap sites it is a good basic set if you're wanting something quick.

Or, if you want to spend more time, you can do your layout on photoshop or another photo editing software with your own custom backgrounds and elements, or backgrounds and elements from digiscrap sites and then save your final page as a jpeg and upload your finished page into a full page layout. I've done both and they have both turned out great!

I like to use the simple drag and drop format to show off portraits where you don't need a lot of embelishments that may distract from the subject. I use the more time intensive photo editing for pages where the pictures are not that great and there is more story involved, or when I have specific personalized backgrounds or elements I want to use such as pictures of my daughter's hair bows or jewelry clipped out.

No purchase of programs, FREE to try out and use to plan your traditional handmade layouts or have them processed and sent to your house or grandparents in a 12x12 size and you get the Jpeg to print anyway you would like.
I found this to be Easy and Faster than some other sites and companies that have been referenced. If your looking for a bound book you might want to look at Creative Memories or use the JPEG to order online from snapfish or walmart
To try Studio J go to http://reker.myctmh.com/

I use & love Creative Memories Storybook Plus. It is an amazing program with the ability to use predesigned pages, has an auto populate feature for your pictures based on date, and other cool features. The best part is that it is very user friendly and you can really hit the ground running. I also like the program because you do not need to be online to use it, only when uploading your completed project. There is also a lot of digital freebies out there for this program.

There is also a free version available that does not have all the benefits of the Plus version. But it is a great way to see how the basic program works.

If you would like more information on the program, please send me an email.
Thanks
Christine

I love creating digital pages... I'd do it for you for a fee. :)

It seriously is faster once you have the hang of using the software you want to use. I use Photoshop Elements 4.0 (a dinosaur version) and I also know how to do similar stuff with GIMP which is a free download from the web. I make my own pages and use blurb.com to print them into a book. If you want to see some pages I've created (all be it not all my own created papers/elements and such ... visit www.creamofthecropdesigns.wordpress.com

or even www.myfivelittlepeople.blogspot.com

i had the same problem--just not enough time. i came across the website 'shutterfly' they offer decent prices with professional, good quality books. it was an easy site to use it just took a while for me to figure it out. my problem is that i was trying to upload entire albums at once instead of the just the pictures i wanted to use. but once i figured that out it was very easy. it didn't take very long to process either. they have free shipping offered all the time and sales on different types of book covers. i would say get your book set up the way you want it and wait for them to offer free shipping (they do all the time) then print.
