Which to choose, Photoshop Elements or Creative Memories

I just signed up for heritage makers. I liked that the software was free and the Club HM option saves you money and also lets you use their entire library of papers embellishments etc. I am brand new to digital scrapbooking so we will see how it goes.

What kind of photo paper does Creative Memories use for their prints? I am trying to find out why they are so much more expensive than the competitors. They must use some kind of special paper. No problem with the expense if it is more archival, but I would like to find somewhere on the website where they tell you what type of paper they use, and I am at a loss to find it.



By the way, I do special books on Picaboo (easy story creation and all the templates are free). I tried the free Story Book Creator, and it was a pain. I was told that the pay version is better, but Picaboo is free and easy. So, I went with them after doing both kinds of books for my 2007 picture two years ago (I am behind).

Well, this question has been out there for a while, but I'd like to chime in that there is another great choice! I'm a Stampin' Up! demo and I love using My Digital Studio.



I like the templates, and the paper choices are beautiful. The newest version is being released on Aug. 1, 2012 and I can't wait!

I am NOT a creative memories consultant and I have used both programs. I love photoshop and can not get the same quality of scrapbook pages from CM. photoshop is harder to learn, but you can find great tutorials online to help you enhance your skills. Theshabbyshoppe.com and Jessicasprague.com have the best products, freebies, and tutorials. You are right, you will quickly outgrow CM as I did. If you've never used photoshop then you will swear by CM, but I have used both and swear by photoshop. :)

Hi I just started using CM storybook 2.0. I loved it! But I have one problem. I saved it all and hit the print button. clicked the print pages only button, it does the preview, I agreed to it. It asked for my password for creativememories.com then says uploading. Once that is done it sends me to the homepage. Now I can't find my pages to get ordered! Anyone able to tell me what to do?

My name is Tammy Mitchell and I am a Creative Memories Consultant. The nice thing about the software is that they are always comming out with digital power palettes, digital power palette kits, digital power palette addditions, digital embellishments, and digital expressions that you can use with the storybook creator plus software. There is always something new and when they come out with new paper or stickers etc they always put it in digtal to. This is great for storybooks and making your own invitations.

I  am a graphic artist with 10 years experience with Adobe Creative Suite and other Adobe products. I also have used Storybook Creator Plus with CM. There are so many things that Photoshop (which is the professional verision of Elements) does that Storybook Creator Plus will do. Storybook Plus makes it easier to manipulate placement of elements and order of pages. Possiblilities are endless. I'd be happy to send you samples of my Storybook pages if you'd like to get an idea. Hi! I am a professional photographer who loves to scrapbook digitally. I don't know how I could live without BOTH of these softwares in my collection. I use Elements to digitally enhance my photos and I use Storybook Creator Plus to scrapbook them. I have both Photoshop Elements and recently CM's Storybook Plus and by far I love the CM product. To me, PSE was too complicated and you needed the manual, CM's product was so easy and they even offer free web training each week and you can view previous web training for more experienced things. I ended up signing up as a consultant since it was just a little more than the Click It price which comes with a discount on your first storybook. I can't see how you would outgrow it since you can incorporate your own digital files that you may have purchased or downloaded free and you can even make your own .png files (they show you how) and I heard that CM is getting more and more digital product. I was really impressed with the quality of the storybook they sent me that I just made. Here is my website:

I did a fantastic hardcover album with Creative Memories.  It has a customized cover, fantasitc layouts and is worth every penny, especailly with the time saving over regaular scrapping.  I love the program and recommend it.

Creative Memories Storybook Plus for me too. I've been using it since it came out. I just watched one of the recorded Done In Four webinars (creativememories.com under Help Zone) and learned some new things--even me a veteran user. Anyone can watch these even if you don't have the program just to see what it's all about. It's amazing how much this program can do. So fun to make items for the kids' school projects with that personal touch!

I also use Creative Memories and love it. I have made many different projects with it besides storybooks and scrapbook pages. I have designed my own pdf files for coffee mugs, tshirts, calendars, etc and posters and even turned some small posters into placemats for my kids because my husband is deployed and now they have fancy placemats of them with their daddy to eat on every night.

The program is very easy to figure out and the more I work with it the more fun it becomes because I don't have to work so hard to accomplish detailed pages. I can even do paper piecing on my CM software. I really think it is fun.

They have great tutorials and a digital hotline to asssist you with any questions you may encounter while using the program. They have over 50 free templates to choose from and so many more that you can purchase as well. Also they add new digital templates every month and you don't have to be online to do your storybooks.
