Please use this thread to let us know who you are, what your hobbies are, and anything else you'd like to share. If you're comfortable sharing what disability affects your life, this would be an excellent place to do so.

Can't wait to meet you!

Here ya go. The day it was on the website, Ethan and I were the big picture at the top of CNN.com. The Pope had the little spot next to us. I joke that we got our picture with the Pope, haha!

Hi, my name is Sarah. I am 27 and have a 19-month-old son named Ethan. Yes, he is cuter than your kid. lol!

I have a disability called Arthrogryposis, or AMC. My arms are almost useless and I do most things with my feet. CNN thought this was interesting enough to make me headline news on their website and play a clip of me diapering Ethan on their TV channel in April 2010. It was my 15 minutes of fame, which was pretty awesome and fun.

I spend a lot of time geeking around on the computer. I maintain my own website, (sarahkovac.com) and do a little motivational speaking here and there. I LOVE doing that. It really makes me feel like my struggles have been for a reason.

I am married to the most wonderful man. He has no disabilities, except that he was goofy enough to hand around with a heavy metal band all the time when he was a teenager so he has to wear hearing aids now, lol. He is compassionate and supportive in ways I would have never hoped for. Neither of us are perfect, and we have our fights like any couple, but I can't imagine a better team.

I believe my life is a tapestry... it contains light, beautiful threads as well as black ones. From this side, it looks like a mess. But in the end, when I see the whole picture, I believe even the darkest moments in my life will have added to the overall beauty of the story.

Pleasure to meet you. :)

Oh thank you for responding. My name is shannin tipton and I do have disabilities. They affect almost every part of my life. I have two kids. A 4 yr old girl and 8 yr old boy. I have short term memory problem and lack common sense . . sometimes. I stay at home because of my disability although I would prefer to work. When I tell people that I had brain surgery most seem to run the other way. I look "normal" but once you get to know me I am a little silly. I like to laugh and play on the computer. I started the community Mothers with Brain Injuries but its not doing so hot. I have look into other communities that is how I found you. But to be honest most of them are dead or not very active. That is why I am so pleased your there. If you have any suggestions on how to get my community to thrive like yours that would be great.
thanks for listening and hope to hear from you more.
