Do your daily meds make you tired? {:+)

I use to take them daily but quit about a year ago, I felt better at the time LOL I know that you only feel better cuz they are working not cuz its cured, I know that mental issues aren't really cured. So I am thinking about going back on soon when DH has some time off since it makes me sleepy and I hate being 'out of it' when I am home alone with the kids just incase something happens.

Damn Tracey that is awful. Don't the seizures make you tired? Are you having them daily? Oh man.

It has been crazy a little bit. Summer equals kids. I had four of them yesterday. I was just tellin Jamie that they gang up on me. But for the most part they are good kids. Whenever there is a huge crash. I tell them to each yell out "I am okay" if I hear four of them it usually isn't life threatening. LOL

So far I have only had one seizure today... woooohoooo but at the same time I feel tired and a bit like jelly inside, think it might be due to amount of meds that I am now having to take to try to control the seizures. How have you been?

Shannin for your pain meds you can actually try taking just hlf of the pill and then take the other half about half way though till it is time for th next pill. Like if you have to take it every 6 hours. The take half every 3 hours then it can control the pain before it gets really bad. it should keep you from getting really tired. The side effects should be more managble after about 2 monthes. I know sucks. I am down with another migraine and I can't take any migraine meds because they make my migraine werse. I had tocall pain management to get permision to take more for the pain. Always fun but at least they let me when needed.

I just received a hole new batch of meds but I can't take them unless I am in major pain. They will make me sleepy which you can't take care of kids when you're asleep now can you.

Hi Tracey,
To answer you earlier question, what kind of tumor did I have? It was called an AVM, arterial vessel malformation. Basically it was like a kinked up hose and ballooned and burst. When they went in for surgery, they found another one on the other side and removed that one as well. It was in my frontal lobe. That is where your decision making and thought processing comes from and a little bit of short term memory. So I blurt things out without thinking and offend a lot of people but not on purpose. I sorry to hear that, I am going to load that place up with jokes so you can refer to it any time. It will take some time though. So please be patient. So dont worry about it. I used to know loads of jokes before they messed around with me brain. I even used to have loads of funny moments stories but i cannot even remember them.

They told me, we need to do surgery. I said ok. I was fine with it. Then they told me that they were going to shave all my hair off. That is when I lost it. Go figure. LOL. They also told me to "Keep an open mind." and "Dont let them tell you it is all in your head." LOL I loved that doctor. {:+)

They just shave the long line they were slicing... I actually remember saying... "thank god for the siezures"... Every one called me 'sick' for saying it... but think about... If i had not had the siezures, the tumor would never have been found and the worst thing would have happeded...!!! Am i reght or am i right?!?1 lol ;-)x

Woo, Tracey they did not give you a lot of time to think about, did they. That was probably for the best. No need to dwell on something that has to be done. Personal question, dont have to answer. Did they shave all your hair or just part of it. They shaved my whole head. But they only cut the frontal lobe from ear to ear.

I still get headaches and migraines, I had migraines all my life which is why the doctors just gave me pills for them instead of investigating why i was getting them so often. It was not until I started having siezures in 2006/2007 that they found the reason... Better late than never. The choices i was given were... Operate now (one month later it was done) or "leave it for 3 years and have a major stroke, leave it for 5 years and die from brain damage". There was no reall choice there was there?!?!?! lol

OMG I know exactly what you mean about things some things not coming out the way you meant them to. I am the queen of sticking my foot in my mouth. I am also having a problem with my computer. It is really slow. As am I. LOL I have memory problems too. It can be very frustrating. I say the same thing over or I cant remember anything. If I get stressed I cant remember my phone number etc. I have only met two others on CoM that have had brain surgery. Do you get migraines alot because I get botox injections every three months to help prevent them. It has really helped a lot. Not always but most of the time. Sorry to go on. Hello again Shannin, I also get sleepy with a couple of my meds, unfortunely I am not able to stop any of mine. Some of mine are for pain, siezure control, migraine control... and blah blah blah. I had a brain tumor removed in 2008. It was found by accident because I was being investigated for epilepsy. It was benign ... thankfully, but very large, my memory while it was still in my head was aweful and it is still bad. The tumor had been growing for decades acording to the specialist and was as a bit larger than a golf ball and was squashing the front left side of my brain and putting major pressure on it. Sometimes when i am talking or even typing/writting, I know what i want to say but it does not always come out the way it is meant to. If this is the case tonight then i am really sorry. How are you? ;-)
