Hi,

my name is Kristy; I have a teenage step-son with some learning issues.

I was thinking I might be able to be a contributor of some sort, based on my educational, professional, and personal background.

I was diagnosed with dyslexia-severe and stress induced ADHD when I was in the second grade. I have had many struggles n challenges.

I have volunteered n interned with students at all grade levels and levels of functioning. I have a certificate in early childhood education. I am qualified to teach up to privet kindergarten in the state of Co. I have worked in many capacities-nanny, day camp, day care, teaching exct.

I now have a BSW and am looking at a masters.



I have lived with these issues on both sides.



volunteer and a step-mom of a 13 year old boy. I live with my "partner", his son and my doggie baby.

I have a whole list of chronic health issues, which have come to be classified as physical disabilities as well as ADHD and learning and processing disabilities.

The biggest challenges lately are the pain and what I like to call "motivational issues".



Just looking n hoping for people that "get it", been there, won't judge, and can offer real help, support or advice and not just platitudes.

Hi Kristy,
I was looking over the post and you are a WEALTH of information. I would love for you to join my community. You get it from both sides. The intellectual and the patients perspective. Please say you will join my community. I think you would be able to help a lot mothers with all differents issues. P.S. You amaze me. Please let me know {:+)

Hi Kristy,
I am so glad you are still active. I have started my own community and would love it if you would join. Please dont be put off by the name. It is for anybody who is suffering from PMS, mental issues, disabilities to brain injuries. Its called Mothers with Brain Injuries. There is a lot more but my kids are driving me crazy right now. But I wanted to respond to you asap. Im sorry. Talk with you soon? {:+)

Hi Kristy,
My name is Shannin Tipton and I too have a disability. I had brain surgery 1993. Everything is fine now. I call it the invisible disability because I look like everybody else, but I lack common sense for one. I was looking at the post and noticed that the dates are a little old. I was wondering if you are still active on CoM? If you are, could you let me know, if you're still there that is. thanks{:+)

I too sometimes have motivational issues from my bipolar but it's mostly during winter months.Pain is hard to deal with I have pain from cysts on my ovaries daily.i haven't been on much lately or i would have answered by now.How are things going lately?Your still a mom regardless if it's step mom or not.
