my daughter is 3 years now she had dislocated hip, she did the surgery since about 2 years, and till now the hip is not completely ossified yet, her ex -orthopedist told us that her hip can be dislocated again any time.
her new orthopedist is more optimist but I can't stop thinking about going through another surgery again

Our surgeon told us if the socket is not deep enough, a dislocation can happen again, but is unlikely after surgery. During my daughter's surgery (open reduction) he tightened her ligaments to keep the hip in place. So he is fairly confident it will not come out again. However, at her last check (3 months ago) her socket was still shallow, so her surgeon mentioned the possibility of needing another surgery. But he said the chances were slim.
