Thanks for the feedback! We're planning Disney World-Florida. The last time I was there was 1991 for high school graduation! I want to keep all options open for now as to staying inside versus outside.

Holly we stayed at the Grand Californian. It is amazing. Loved our stay there soo much. Where did you find a discount coupon? We are planning a trip for next February and I am hoping we will stay there again.

When my family went to Disney Land we stayed at a "good neighbor hotel" which was right across the street, but it was annoying to have to walk all the way across the parking lot and across the street at the end of a long day...

Every time we've gone to Disney WORLD (mor than DL, even though I grew up in NV, our dance studio performed in DW multiple times) we stay on the park grounds (the All Stars Resort to be exact) and it is ALWAYS so nice and easy. It was way nicer to be able to just hop on one of the shuttles at the end of the day to get back to the hotel (though the lines to get on them could be pretty long).

My hubby and I are planning a trip to DL with our 8 year-old and we are going to stay at the Grand Californian Resort because we have a discount coupon that only applies to stays at the resort and includes meals and park tickets...

We've stayed outside of the park and it was a pain in the butt having to wait for a shuttle to get you back and forth. Our next visit we stayed at a Disney Resort Hotel and it was the best. You can just walk back to your room any time to rest or refresh or if you forgot something. It's also much easier to get into the park early to beat the crowds. We were at Disneyland and instead of heading back to the hotel in the evening we hung out in Downtown Disney with the kids and had a blast.
