Use the time spent waiting in the car to pick up children to sort your handbag. You could also use the time to gather up the trash int the car. I keep a few enviro bags in the car for this purpose. While waiting I gather all the crud into three bags, one for each child, then when we get home each child has to put away or throw out what ever is in their bag and return it to the car.
