It feels as if I want to burst into tears all the time, bury my head in my pillow, hide under my duvet covers and sob!

I feel anxious, helpless, unprepared ans literally I feel manicly depressed!

What can I do to feel better? Is this normal?

I've been bursting into tears at the drop of a hat. I think it's just the lack of sleep, pregnancy hormones, and feeling like I've been pregnant forever. So I would say this is totally normal! Don't feel bad about feeling unprepared, either. I'm on my second and feel the same way, but at least this time around I know that the baby doesn't notice the little things at first like whether or not the house looks perfect. If anyone else has any suggestions on how to feel better, I would like to hear it!

I am sure it is normal... I am 38 weeks and feel that way sometimes, usually at least once a day i burst into tears. I feel really unprepared too - but i am sure you are doing what you can to prepare! there is so much unknown out there!! I just try not to think about it... is there one or two things that scare you the most? Try to get as much info as you can about them. AND I always remember that women have been doing this for YEARS and it is natural instinct, so it will all be ok.

Make sure you talk to your doctor or midwife about it. It could just be anxiety about the baby coming and nothing to worry about. However, if you are actually experiencing real depression then it could become worse after delivery. My baby came on Thursday and I am a mess. I'm going to be contacting my doctor about it on Monday and hopefully there is something he can do to help.

With my first pregnancy I felt the same way. Not a day went by that I wasn't on the floor with heaving sobs. When I gave birth it was like turning on a light. Sometimes it's just an overflow of hormones but you might meed to talk to your dr. Depression in pregnancy can get very serious. Make sure your doing everything you can to keep yourself and the baby healthy. Otherwise cry your eyes out if you want to. This to shall pass. Good luck :)
