I don't believe there is a minimum age. I took our little one from Melbourne to Sunshine coast when he was about 2 mths old. He slept for most of the journey but it was only a short flight (approx 2 hrs). I made sure to feed him during take off and landing. If it is not feeding time, a dummy/pacifier helps at this time.

I flew from Georgia to Arizona when my oldest son was only 3 weeks old, he was fine and slept most of the time. I nursed him during take off and landings!

When Phoenix was 12wks old we flew to the other side of Australia (4hrs plane trip there, 5.75hrs back). He slept the whole way. I just made sure I was feeding him on take-off & landing.

There are no age limits on babies on planes, but it is best for them to be at least 3 months old. http://www.bubhub.com.au/info/articles/f... has some tips and useful links.
