20 month old. What's wrong with her?

My daughter is 20 months old, and until she was about 12 months old she would sleep through the night, now she wakes up every night between 2:30 and 4:30 in the morning just screaming. I know she's not hungry or thirsty since I keep a sippy of water in her crib at night and her belly is full before bed, and a clean diaper, the only way she is calm is if she's laying next to me or daddy. Now she's started to act a little weird, one minute she's happy then the next she'll come up to one of us and cling on to us for dear life and just shake and fuss, she doesn't seem to be in pain since afterwards she's back to playing and being happy. Is this normal or at all related? What could it be?

its just a phase, i personaly wudnt pander 2 it, i did with my boys an it made a rod 4 my back. my lil girl tho, i tried my mums suggestion of ignoring it. sounds harsh i know but it worked. it was so hard not going 2 her when she was crying but it was just 4 attention coz she was having a growth spurt an was waking all refreshed assuming it was morning an wanting me up, but i had 2 re teach her what was expected of her, and getting me up at three in the morning is not whats expected of her lol. it took a whole wk of crying for those few hours every night but now she sleeps right thru again :) i suppose kidz dont know if its ok 2 get up anytime they want, thats why i had 2 put a stop 2 it an show her it wasnt right. shes such a happier lil girl again now :) if thats a tad too harsh 4 u, theres always controled crying (i think thats what its called) im not sure exactly how its done but if u google it im sure it'll throw a tump of gud info up on it :)

Lorna I agree, letting them be. Try it for a couple of nights and if it doesnt get better maybe something else is going on but she knows if she cries she gets to get up and be with mommy and daddy and be out of her bed. I mean babies are smart! lol If you dont feel comfotable doing that though I understand but if you know she is okay and all her needs are met I would try this for a couple nights and see what happens.
