How can you tell if you might be leaking amniotic fluid? If you are leaking it, is it harmful or normal?

If you are leaking, it has a distinct, sweetly odor. I have low amniotic fluid, discovered in ultrasounds and haven't noticed any leaking or other symptoms, just low levels. It is very important to talk to your dr because if the fluids get too low, it can be a really bad thing for baby and it needs to be watched carefully. I am having to do 2 ultrasounds a week now to monitor my levels. Definitely something to discuss with your ob! Wishing you a safe and healthy delivery! ;)

I just Binged your question becasue I wasn't sure. It said that you should tell your ob because they will need to check on that for you. If you loose to much than it can cause infection and may harm the baby or ccause you to have him/her early and if you are close to having your baby anyways than they may wanna go ahead and induce you. I would call you dr.
