I am 3 days overdue , I know its just three days but it feels like a lifetime . Im so uncomfortable and tired , I wish I can be induced at this time and just deal with the stronger contractions . I'll feel a strong contraction and then it will just go away , that has been happening the last three days . Its almost like my son is playing a april fools joke on me . Every drip Im praying that its my water breaking but it turns out to be urine since the baby is so low in my pelvis , hes sitting on my bladder ! Like as I type this Im having a contraction but it isnt painful or unbearable . Everyone is telling me that boys are usually 2 weeks early or 2 weeks late , I really dont want to be pregnant for 2 more weeks !!!

update : i take that back i really dont want to be induced lol , i want to know what it feels like to go into labor on my own . being induced with my daughter was so painful !

my neighbor is one week overdue- she has been 5 cm dilated and 90% effaced for 3 weeks now!!!! the doctor is worried she wont make it to the hospital in time!!!!

personally i didnt mind getting induced so much... i was in early labor for a week and got annoyed with it.

My son was born just under 37 weeks, never knew what it was like with him to get close to my due date, my daughter came at 1 day short of 39 weeks, however she had peeling skin, a lot of the time that is caused by being over due. I felt a lot of discomfort with her. I wanted her out of me so bad the last 2 weeks.

Both my boys arrived late-one was 4 days the other 5-so I know the frustration. Please do avoid induction if possible, had my membranes ruptured with my first and it was horrific. My advice is to go for a brisk walk, the pressure on your cervix induces dilation and the exercise gets the oxytocin going to increase contractions. At the very least the endorphins will get you feeling more cheerful. Only 20% of babies arrive on their due date, so get a good book and enjoy having some time to yourself, it will be the last for a while. Lastly, your womb is a safe, warm, comfortable place and if he isn't coming it's probably for a good reason and you are being a good mommy by providing his with the best environment possible!

It seems like all the boys being born this year are late! A lot of my friends are going several days over with their second child too. Good luck though, I was only 1 cm last week. I'm getting grouchy.

I'm 41 weeks pregnant today with my first. I'm going crazy too... But the average for first timers is 41 weeks and 3 days. Don't request to get induced early though! You have made it this far, and think about your baby. If he needs a few more days to cook, then let it be. The sacrifices for your baby start now. Not after he's born! Good luck! Hopefully we will be going into labor soon! I am scheduled for induction NEXT Sunday. (they wouldn't let me go any longer)
