How do I treat my baby's gastroenteritis?

My 12 month old son has been vomiting up everything he eats since last evening. I imagine that he's got some variety of gastroentertitis but to be safe and sure he's going to the doctor tomorrow. Both formula and solids are coming up. He hasn't kept anything down since yesterday evening (nearly 24 hours now). How do I treat this? His doctor's appointment is in 24 hours and he is hungry and starting to become mildly dehydrated. Should I simply persist in trying to feed him? If so, what? Should bottles be formula? Water? This is the first time we've dealt with something like this.
