im right there with you only my son is 15 months old but still, 1-2 hours?! come on body clock!!! i honestly think its a hormonal thing that prepares us to learn how to function on very little sleep and waking that much to feed our new babies. thats just my positive outlook. my negative, its just another horrible symptom that we have to deal with. lol i like the positive better! :)

I'm 32w1d and I'm exhausted. Between wild dreams that make noooo sense, my bladder waking me every few hours, and bursitis in my knee, I feel like I'm not sleeping at all. I'm a walking zombie by morning. I'm praying that this baby is a good sleeper and after delivery I'll be able to get some rest. I'm so wiped out!

I'll join in. I go to bed around 9pm and then my left hip starts to hurt. I can't get comfy. I have a body pillow and it still doesn't help. Then 12am hits, I wake up every 2 hours to go to the bathroom. ugh! Then 4:30am comes I can't fall back to sleep till 6am. Then I get a little nap from 6-8am. Thats when my 3 year old wakes up. She tires me out during the day. I pray that she takes a nap, but she's starting to wean herself off of naps now. UGH!

Just an FYI Tylenol PM is safe during pregnancy too! It helps with the aches at night when you slow down too. It has a 50mg of diphenhydramine(Benadryl)in 500 mg aceteminophen(Tylenol). Both Perfectly safe during pregnancy! Hope this helps. I work night shift and have 3 kids at home and a husband so I take it when I need too!

I too am having a hard time sleeping. I am now 31 weeks and getting uncomfortable. However i dont seem to have too much trouble falling to sleep the first time - i am normally so exhausted that i drift right off to sleep, but it does not last for long. I normally wake up within a few hours to go to the bathroom or with leg cramps or because the dog is barking or cause my 17 month old son decided to get up ..... lots of reasons i suppose. But it sometimes takes hours to fall back to sleep and by that time i have to get up again due to some of the above reasons.
So far i have not really found much that helps, normally if i walk about a bit it helps the cramps and sometimes if i turn the radio on quietly it helps me fall back to sleep sooner. I also agree that it is probably just a way for me to get used to going back to having very little sleep - althou i dont really know what sleep is anyways. I have a busy 5 1/2 year old son and 17 month old son and i work full time. Also husband is away for 10 days at a time to i pretty much do everything alone. Maybe i am just so busy that i dont have time to realize how tired i am. Hopefully things start cooperating soon and we can all get some much needed sleep before the babies start arriving (not long now)!!

I take 1/2 a Unisom most nights to help with my insomnia (at 28 weeks). My doctors first prescribed it when I had severe neausea until about 18 weeks. Now they say it is perfectly safe to take 1/2 a pill whenever I feel I need it. I have a 16 month old and a 4.5 year old to take care of all day, so I need my rest!

im sleeping horrible too..i might get more than a few hours of sleep in one set but if im woke up it takes hours to fall back asleep and my sleep is never a sound sleep. it makes it really difficult to tend to a very active 4 year old boy who sleeps like a rock.
