I was surprised yesterday with a small shower! It was great since #2 is the opposite gender. I'm due 12/3 so my family cut it close. ;)

I'm having my son Dec 5th. So I'm having my baby shower on Sat Nov 12th. I'll be 36 weeks pregnant at that time so I dont wanna wait any longer then that. Waiting longer is pushing it. Cuz after 36 weeks anything could happen. I had my lil girl at 36 weeks.

I'm not sure. I live in MA most of my friends and family are in CT. I'm due in the middle of Feburary. I'm thinking probably the begining of January would be best. Its hard with New England weather lol.

I had to have 2 because of family living so far away. I had my first one at the beginning of October and my second one will be at the beginning of November. :)

I am having my shower for my baby in January because I'm going to double up and make it my first sons birthday and my seconds baby shower. That way, we get to all hang out and eat cake!

I had one 10yrs ago with my son - when I had my daughter in July 2010 I got nothing, and I am due end of March 2012 and I moved away to another province and I am sure I wont have anything this time around either - which stinks because I could use some stuff for sure...

I have decided that I'm not having one. This is second bub but we already have everything and don't really see the point. Although once bub is out if anyone wants to buy nappies and wipes and essential stuff they can :-) it's just so close to Christmas and there are a few events in November already so I'm not gonna worry. I'm sure this baby will get spoilt enough it has a big family on my partners side!!

I commented before about not knowing what to do since this is my third child. Just an update... my friend is throwing me a halloween themed diaper party (just asking for clothes and diapers, though I did register in case people want to go that route). It'll be a cute, family-friendly halloween party. That way, we get to try out some fun halloween finger food/dessert recipes and I get diapers/baby clothes out of the deal :) We're doing it on the 29th.

About two-three months before the baby is due that way you still have time to get those have to have items before you are holding baby in your arms and reallized oh crap we didn't get any diapers yet...lol

I'm due december 15th. I have a baby shower on October 15th for friends and family who lives further south in Cali. I then am traveling back home for Thanksgiving, and having a second shower on the 26th with my immediate family and hometown friends :) It doesn't matter when it is-- so long as all the important people have a chance to help celebrate with you :))

This is my second but its a boy and so a few of my family and friends have mentioned wanting to do something. My daughter will be 2 Oct. 30 so I don't know when they would try to have it. I know I shouldn't get one since my children are so close but this was a surprise pregnancy and I cant help but hope to get a little "sprinkle" to help.

Nykee. I think if just had a small baby shower and said to people don't go overboard like give them a limit that would be ok. It's completely up to what you want to do. Just a small gathering even if the males are present. Who cares.

This is my third kid, but my first boy. Several friends have asked if/when I'm having a shower, but I feel like it's tacky to have a shower since my kids are still young. I asked my family (mom and grandma) and they don't think I should have one. What are your thoughts? Are those of you who have other kids having showers?

Someone suggested to me to have a "diaper party" with just some snacks and drinks, and everyone brings a pack of diapers in various sizes. Would that be more appropriate than an all-out shower?

I agree that late October/early November would be appropriate for a shower for December babies to avoid the holiday rush and to give you time to get set up before you deliver!

I am not having a baby shower - i will do the same as i did with my last son. We had a come and meet the baby party and it was really nice. My mum threw a welcome the new baby party last time when my son was about 4 weeks old and it worked out really well. So we will do that this time around as well!

I'm thinking end of October. November can get hectic and I know quite a few birthdays I don't think end of October is too early at all :-)

[deleted account]

I'm not having an offical shower. It's more of grandparents are going to go out and buy the last minute things. My mom is offering to help pay for any extra medical costs. My dad has offered to buy a couple boxes of diapers.

With my daughter (who was born the end of Nov), I had a shower in August. I didn't want to miss out on my own baby shower.

thats what i thought too. i mean even though thanksgiving is the only holidays in nov. people usually stay places for a week or so. and i just wanted to not go through all that.
