My baby has only just learned to roll from her back to front. She sometimes knows how to go from her front to back. She isn't getting on her knees and cries when put on her tummy to practice. She likes to sit and can SLOWLY scoot to where she wants to go on her butt - well, she reaches for something and moves a centimetre (about half an inch) each time - I don't think she even realises she is moving. She is such a happy bub and is talking (well, repeats one/two words in a row when I talk to her). She has an older brother so you'd think she would be ahead ... but nope! Is anyone else's babies still slow to crawl?

Have you tried crawling in front of her? Or have her brother do it? There's a chance she just doesn't know that she's supposed to!

Also, with tummy time, take her favorite toys and play with them in front (with) her. It'll distract her from being on her tummy and she'll want to get to that toy!

Barring that, one of the things I had to do with Des was do his tummy time on a Boppy, bc he wanted to see what was going on and couldn't when he was smaller when he was flat on his tummy. That helped a lot.

We also raised him up on his hands and knees (hands on torso), just to show him a new perspective.

Hope something in there helps!

Scooting along on her butt is a form of Crawling! This is exactly what my daughter did at that age. She then took off walking the very next month. so you don't need to worry!

Don't worry, my little girl only started crawling a day before her 1st Birthday!!! I also got worried, but now she's 13 months and still not walking, she is now only trying to pull herself up against furniture!!! Even I am getting worried again, but we shouldn't. Every little person takes his/her own time!!! Good luck mommies.

Try doing surprising, noisy goofy things right in front of her. I bet if you ask your older child to help they will be more than happy to assist. This is your chance to be silly. Relax and smile and have a good time. Nobody can resist a good party! My baby is a little older than yours and didn't crawl until after she was 1 year, probably because we have very slippery hardwood floors. Once she started scooting on her butt I could tell she was getting impatient with how long that took and it wasn't too much longer before she found ways to move more efficiently. I also noticed that if she was learning new words, she would "take a break" from all her other projects. Sounds like your baby is doing very well with her verbal skills.

my daughter has been crawling since 6 months, but isn't walking yet and she will be a year tomorrow. but my son, who is now 8, never crawled. he would roll himself across the floor to where he wanted to be and pull himself up. all babies are different, and some never crawl at all! so don't stress about it

My son didn't 10.5 months. I don't know if your daughter reflux but I have found a connection between the two. My son HATED being on his stomach. NOTHING was working to get him to be happy on his stomach, in fact we called it "torture time." I finally just gave up on tummy time all together. The mall we live near has a indoor play area. There are more little children there that were crawling along and he just kept watching them. That's where he started to crawl, no signs he was going to crawl at all. He just turned 1 year yesterday and crawling strong.

Some kids never crawl.
