We just found out we are having out first boy and my husband wants his name to be Walter Scott Norman V. Which is the fifth. We were thinking of calling him Quinn or Quint since they mean 5. My husband said no to Wally and my father in law goes by Scott. I may just call him Walter, but just wondering what the popular vote is for the nick names. Thanks so much.

I like Quinn. :) You will think of a nickname when he comes along. We call one of my daughters Rissa (Marissa) and the other one Mar (Maranda) but I never thought we would nickname them. LOL Usually, school teachers will ask if you have a nickname you like to go by so it prob won't cause too much trouble later. Congrats on your boy!

Thanks ladies! If we do go with a nick name I will make sure he still knows his real name before school starts! LOL My husband goes by a nick name and I go by my middle name so I didn't really think about school. I only went by my middle name at home where as my husband just told all his teachers on the first day what to call him. I may just call him Walter, who knows!

I really like Quinn. And I grew up with a nickname that had nothing to do with my full name and nver experienced any problems in school or anywhere else. So I say go with it!

quinn is cute but i do think it may confuse people outside the family especially if he primarily uses that as he gets older (school etc)

don't think too much about it now the nickname just sorta comes to you i'm sure your will find something that suits him after he is born

I think Quinn or Quint might be lost on most folks (like his future teachers), so maybe if you really like it make it an at home thing?

I personally think Walter is a wonderfully strong male name and would use that, if he were mine. :-)
