Ways of introducing baby food to baby.

So my son was 6 months on the 5th. We started baby food roughly 2 weeks ago. Started with cereal which my baby didn't seemed to thrilled with and then also have been doing those 2 pack plastic containers of baby food. We'll split one container to two or three meals depending how much my son will eat. He doesn't seem like he really likes it. We've only done a couple different veggies (since they say wait 3 days to a week before doing a new food). He doesn't seem to like them much at all and this momma doesn't really know what I'm doing wrong. I read some where that you should nurse first then offer food, so I've been doing that. I've also been feeding him later in the day since I usually will feed him just in a diaper or just a shirt and change him right after since he's always dirty. Should I try feeding him earlier and not so close to bed time? I just want this to be enjoyable for both of us and right now it isn't really. :/ So any suggestions or tips would be helpful.
Also my son just got his two bottom teeth this week and he seems like he wants to nurse more. You think it's a comfort thing or a growth spurt? I'll even offer food after a late afternoon nap and get the same effect.

lol it sounds like your little man just really likes his milk and isn't wantin baby food just yet.. just don't give up, he'll get the idea sooner or later, but yea, i would try offering him food when he is awake and not sleepy.

Up until 1yr solids right now are only for practice when they need them. He's still getting all of his nutrition from milk right now. Solids are not a must right now. If he doesn't like certain foods, that's okay, we don't like every kind of food either. If he doesn't seem to like solid food period, that's okay too. He doesn't have to have it right now.

Don't worry about it. If he's nursing, he's getting all the nutrition he needs from that so eating is really recreational at this point. Just do it for fun until he's interested. I would focus on a schedule and just taking the pressure off.

For the first year, food is optional. Not that you shouldn't feed him but just do it at his pace and relax about it.

I mix a veggie with some rice cereal and give my son that but he had some sleep issues so I stopped food for a few weeks and am just nursing.

Relax. He'll like it eventually. You can try putting him in the high chair and not feeding him while your family eats. Then only feed him when he is looking at you eat and making chewing motions with his mouth.
