I've been using Avent bottles for my pumped milk. My baby always has bad gas pains at night. I've read that Dr. Browns are good for gas and spit ups. Before switching over, I wanted to see what other moms think of these bottles. I find Avent bottles very easy to clean but recently I've had problems with leakage. I believe it's user error but I've been using it for a month and it just started to leak all the time now =(

I currently use dr. browns bottles also. I love them, my daughter never had any gas problems. She actually hardly burps when I use them. I have had some leaking problems with them but not bad enough that I wouldnt recommend them.

I use Avent too and they have just started leaking as well.!! I hate them now but I'm worried about changing them cause the teet shapes are so different on other bottles.. I haven't read peoples replies yet so I'll do that and see if I find an answer lol

Avent vs. Dr. Browns :

I have used the Avent, Dr. Brown's and Playtex bottles and had leakage problems w/ the Avent bottles on a constant basis. Once I tried the Dr. Brown's I never used anything else. My second son and my 10 week old daughter have no problems w/ gas or with spitting up. IMO they are worth the extra money! I have an Avent Isis breast pump so luckily my Avent bottles were not a waste of money.

We love the Dr. Brown's bottles! I BF and have some Medela bottles that came with my pump. I can tell a huge difference between the Dr. Brown's bottles & the Medela. She spits up and has less gas with the Dr. Brown's! I use the microsteam bags to sterilize everything and it's not too much work (of course she nurses most of the time right now and only has a bottle maybe once a day--that will change in a few weeks when I go back to work).

tommee tippee sensitive tummy bottles are comparable to dr browns and betteer in my opinion..softer wider nipple made of silicone and they are plastic..switched my son over last week and he is a completely different baby!! they are around the same price as dr browns but better..only available in the us at babies r us..so worth the money!

I use Dr. Browns and I love them. They do have more parts to clean but my daughter hardly has gas. I replaced the nipples that came with the bottles with NuK nipples and she loves them.

I use Dr. Brown bottles but my baby is also getting really bad gas pain but only at night, I've heard that this are the best bottles for gas and I believe that is not the bottle but the baby. Some babies are just get a lot of gases. I am giving him medicine for gases at night before the pain starts and its been working fine for me, I also sit him on my lap (i know he cant sit up right yet, so i just hold him up) and bounce a little, that movement and the position of his legs when he is sitting gets those extra gases out or just controls the pain.

I have noticed that my avent bottles leak! It's frustrating! But I love the bottles otherwise.

I've been using the Dr Brown bottles and the Nuby bottles with vari-flow nipples. I have found that the nuby bottles with vari flow nipples give my son the least amount of gas. The nipple allows for the milk to be dispensed more like it is from the breast.

Dr Browns also have a wide neck bottle that's just as easy to clean and definitely helps to decrease gas.

I use Dr. Browns and while there are quite a few parts that need to be cleaned I love them. Although my son does still suffer from gas, but I figure it would most likely be worse if I was using a different bottle. However, I think it could have been the formula that was giving him gas too, we switched to one for sensitive tummys.

I use the Dr. Browns and Jax loves them! They do have more parts to sterilize but it is so worth it for him to be happy!

I wouldn't use any other bottle than Dr Brown's. My now 8 yr old had acid reflux very bad as a baby and the Dr Browns helped her so much. I am now on baby #3 and using them and she is doing great on them, no gas, no spit up. I would highly recommend them to anyone

Hello, I use the Playtex VentAir bottles and they work very well. They are a pain to clean though because there are so many parts. But my son likes them.

i used avent bottles with my 2 older kids and never had a leakage problem...maybe it's because they are older. I recently bought a different kind of bottle to try with my 3rd baby because I liked what I read about them and Babies R Us had them on sale....Tommee Tippee. The nipples seem softer than other bottles, they look more like the nipple on mom's breast and they are supposed to be good for gas and spit ups. I've only used it once so far, but my daughter seems to do well with them and I haven't seen any leakage.

I use Dr. Brown bottles for my pumped milk and I love them! They really do help with spitting up and gas, at least with my son. I work at Babies R Us and EVERYONE returns Avent bottles. They always leak, I was given 1 at my baby shower and tried using it and it leaked everywhere so I just threw it out. I highly recommend Dr. Brown bottles, they're worth every penny.
