Baby waking up hourly at night

My 5mth old son is doing exactly the same thing! he has never been a great sleeper but normally would sleep from 7 to 11 then up again around 3 then 5 but now he wakes at 11 then every hour after!! now three weeks on I am exhausted and not enjoying the little things I want to! I too don't want to let him cry it out, dreamfeeds as Tizzie Hall suggested aren't working......what to do???? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The same thing happened to me. Since 2 months my son has been sleepling right through the night from 19h00 - 06h00 and all of a sudden its every hour on the hour... please help!!!

I am up now with my 5 month old. He hasn't been sleeping well. I will not do cry it out. I have seen to much current research against it.

I am still breast feeding and my doctor told me it was common for breast fed babies to wake up one or two times a night until they are one year old. He said that it is because the milk digest so quickly.

I'm with ya. My girl will sleep for a 3-4 hour stretch and then it's every hour unless she's in the bed with me. Ugh!! I think it could be teething?

I'm in the same problem. My son was great sleeper until now (5 monts). I can understand what is happening. I realy need some help!!!!

my son was the same he slept well when he was born and then the hours got shorter and shortet until just last month when i decided that every one and half to two hours waking was not good for me or him

omg you are not alone! My son is doing the exact same thing! He goes to bed around 8 or 830 and it begins about 11 or 12 then its every hour I'm exhausted! I dunno bout you but the whole cry it out thing doesnt really work for us. His daddy wakes at 5 am for work and he assumes that he is special and deserves to have a full nights rest HA... but if anyone has any other suggestions to help I'd be interested in hearing them too

Maybe a dose of tylenol if he seems to be having tooth problems?

I use the crying it out method as well. At this stage in the game they can sleep all night. Unless I know something is wrong...diaper change or just plain hungry...that's the only time I get my son out of bed during the night.

My daughter recently started doing the same thing. I had a couple of nights where I did the crying out thing and that seemed to help for a couple of nights then she was back to the ways of crying again. I have found it happens more on the days that she does not nap well so I dont know if she is over tired. May could be teething also? I have found going in her room and giving her back her nuk and lovie that and rubbing her forward to say mommys here that she more then likely goes back to sleep. Good luck
