Bath Time?

I used to bath my 3 month old every evening as he seems to love his bath, but now I have decided to bath him every second day until I can bath him with his (almost 2 year old ) brother because 1) It is getting too cold in the evenings 2) The bath doesn't seem to affect sleep or not sleeping.

I have a three and a half month old girl, my partner and i would bath her every night as part of a bath,massage,feed and bedtime routine, she was in a big bath with the water just covering our hands at aprox. 8 weeks, She absolutley loves it- the only problem now would be that when we go to take her out, after weve dried her she performs as though she doesnt want clothes on... Weve tryed leaving her in the bath longer, a deeper bath but nothing seems to work- can anyone out there offer advice or is going through the same thing???

My daughter is coming up on 4 months. I give her a bath every night. She loves her bath and she will cry if she doesn't get one. She has only slept through bathtime a handful of times. I find that the bath relaxes her and lets her know it is time for bed. I only bathe her once a day because we have hard water wear we live and I don't want to dry out her skin too much. If she spits up or if her diaper leaks a little, I just use a baby wipe or a wet washcloth to clean her. I also use lotion after each bath when her skin is still moist so it will absorb the moisture into her skin.

I have been bathing my daughter every evening ever since she was born. It helps her, helps me, and because i hate going to bed without a shower, i can't expect her to, either. Especially now, that she started enjoying it. Wouldn't miss it! Clean is good!!!

I just started giving my 3 month old a bath every night as part of her bedtime routine. It helps to relax her and putting her down for bed is much easier. I heard that it dries their skin out but so far her skin does not have that problem. So far so good =)

i think it depends on the baby. we were advised to bathe only every 3-4 days and my son had greasy hair every day in between. now he's almost 4 months old and gets a bath every night and loves it, and seems to have no skin or hair problems from it. in fact, he had pretty bad cradle cap until we started the nightly bath routine and now it's practically disappeared. some babies are fine with a weekly bath. if yours stays fresh and happy and irritation-free, you're probably getting it right.

They say giving a baby a bath too much can dry out their skin. I only give my 3 month old a bath 1 or 2 times a week. You can also if your baby just has a little pee on him just wash him with a wash cloth or something. No need for a bath everytime.

My daughter only gets a bath 2 times a week somtimes 3, the NICU nurse told me never bath her everday untill she starts crawling/ and getting messy with solid foods :) I am super lucky that in 3.5 months we have never had a diaper blow out, and she spits up very rarely, so I ve never felt the need to bath her more often :)

good luck, just go with what you think is best, its not like there rolling around in the mud!!

I give my three month old daughter a bath pretty much every night right before bed it helps her relax and it is a good time for me and her to bond i asked her pediatrician about over bathing her as well but she said it should be fine as long as i don't do it so much through out the day that her skin looks fine to keep it up with her routine

I was worried about this issue too and spoke to one of the OB nurses at the hospital that teach the child care classes. The real issue is the use of soap, since it can irritate or even contribute to the breakdown of their sensitive skin. As a result I only use soap once a week. However, he gets a soak in the tub/sink frequently (sometimes multiple times a day) because this is often the only thing that quiets him down.

I give my baby a bath almost every day cause i give her one now with her big sister. It depend on the parents I know mother that do the same thing you do and I probably would too but now that i got the girls taking one together it is easier for me.

My baby gets a bath every evening. It's part of our bedtime routine and she LOVES it. It relaxes her and makes putting her to sleep easier. I don't wash her hair every night (not that she has much of it), and I put moisturizer on her as part of her massage after the bath. You could add a little baby oil to the water as well to prevent over drying of baby's skin. Sometimes if she has a really big, messy poop we have a bath then instead. I think it's probably more of an issue if you're baby has skin issues.
