You could try some of the sites from cheapfastquality.com - they rank them by how fast they ship, the quality of the product, and of course by the cost. Hope it works out!

Try Mega Blocks. They come in big bags of several blocks for cheap. My 7mo likes to chew on them and they dont have the sharp edges like the Lego Duplo blocks. Whatever you do don't get the regular size Lego's...they are a choking hazzard. I also bought a Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Piggy Bank ($19.99 on amazon) for my 2 year old when he was a baby and he loved to teeth on the hard plastic coins. I love them because I can toss the coins in the dishwasher whenever the fall on the ground or get food or milk on them. My 7 month old now loves them too and it has taught my 2 year old sharing! Good luck! You can also go to healthytoys.org and type in the toys you are looking at before you buy to see if they have BPA, Lead, Bromine, Arsenic and other toxic chemicals.

My 7 month old daughter loves Legos, I don't know if its the color or she likes how they feel or what but she pulls herself all over the floor to get to them! And plus she'll be able to play with them for a long time
