My son was born January 11th 2010, he has been teething for about a month now, but still no teeth have cut through, he has really bad dribble rash all on his chin, neck and chest. I am keeping the area as clean as possible. It is very red and itchy, just wanting to know if any one else is having this problem and what they used?

My son was born January 2nd and cut two teeth through when he was 5 months old. He is 6 months old now and is cutting another 2 through. He seems to get a bad nappy rash and dribble rash every time he teeths. I use sudocrem on his dribble rash and bepathanom for his nappy reash.. The sudocream seems to work as a barrier cream, or you can even try e45 on the rash, i took my son to the doctor and thats something else he prescribed my son, cos it was getting so sore, hope this helps.

we had the same problem. we thought it was because of solid foods so we stopped except for rice cereal. We also used California Baby calendula cream. His face finally cleared up and we started solids again. the doc said it wasn't the solids, just the drooling. hope this helps.

We use Hydrocortisone 1% cream which will help clear it up within a day or two. Then I put vaseline on his chin/neck area everyday which works bc the drool beads right off of it.

Yes Im having the same problem with my daughter. I was told to use Aquaphor which works really good and as well as Eucerin, both are great..

vaseline works great...protects the skin and if you keep a bib w/ a plastic back on him it should help the chest. But vaseline works great on the chin...I had to use it for passy rash on my son.

sudocrem my baby girl has a really sore neck on oneside but anything thast meant to lockmoisture away in the nappy region will do as long as its not really strong also try vaseline if you want a see through protection

oh and dont make the mistake i did and use a bid to catch the dribble as this makes it worse carry your baby around with a muslin cloth and reguarly wipe his mouth and have lots of clean t shirts washed in non bio(i guess thats a given you do already) and change his top every 2-3 hours

hey! I hear that aquaphor is one of the best things to use-as a preventive and for treating. yeah. my daughter, who's 5 mths. she gets really red under her neck and i've been switching between cornstarch and babypowder with cornstarch in it. that has been the most helpful for me.

I have used Aquaphor, Desitine, and Baby powder for my little ones rash and all seemed to help. hers is more on her neck so keeping a bib on all day helped as well.

my son was just a few days earlier than yours. He's been teething since 3 months. I feel so bad for him. He too has no teeth yet tho. He did get a little fungus on his neck from the drooling - and we try to keep him very dry. My ped suggested hydrocortozone cream (1%)

James has a horrible dribble rash at the moment he has broken two teeth about a month ago now but is still drooling. It looks like more are coming I got prescribed cortef cream for him and it is starting to clear up now. I also keep a face washer near by to keep him dry

I just saw my dr today about the same thing and he prescribed Hydro cortisol cream. I was worried about my baby ingesting it but he said a little bit is ok. You can buy OTC in a lower dosage.

I use A&D or desitin, helps keep the moisture off of the area. Clears it up in no time

I use a cream called "Prevex" (not the steroid version) that works really, really well for the "dribble rash". I have little containers of it all over the house. My pharmacist recommended putting it on all the time, as a preventative measure with my super-drooler as well.
