my son i believe caught my cold..which is inevitable bc im the one who mainly takes care of him while daddies at work all day so i saw it coming! i know that running a hot shower and sitting with him in there works to get the mucous loosened in the back of his throat as well as a humidifier. were using saline drops as well and it seems like nothing is working. now my question is this. we live in california and its the summer time. we have the windows open and a fan going. we currently are not using the humidifier at night bc of the fact we have the windows open..so would we have to close them to leave it on at night? our house has little to no air flow without the windows open! im at a loss of what to do. my little man is obviously not sleeping well bc hes having a hard time breathing thru his nose..its so hard to hear him over the moniter so congested! im debating on taking him to the dr im afraid they will give me the advice i already have from my books on relieving a stuffy nose! any moms have some suggestions?

try proping him up buy putting somthing under the matress of his crib, not too much just a little maybe a couple folded towels.
a nice bath with some baby vicks bubble bath and then put a bit of vicks cream on his feet put a nice onsie with feet or socks on him, he should sleep better.
My dd has only had 1 cold at about 4 months but these things worked well for her ugg I feel you pain its so hard to see them suffer :)
Good luck!!

If he is sleeping in a crib take some phone books or any thick books and elevate the head of the crib. That helps with sleeping when they are stuffy. Also try a vapor baby bath and baby vicks. Thankfully Christena has never had a cold yet, but I have had my fair share of colds from her brothers.

I got a battery operated nose sucker, and I usually slather my daughter in baby vicks, on her chest, back and feet then put socks on them. Then have her sleep in her car seat so she is propped up. My daughter has had like four colds, one when she was a week old, this helped her a lot
