My daughter was born at 25 weeks so she is very small for her age at her 4 month check up she weighed 5lb 10 oz she is 5 months now and weighs 7lb 9 oz She smaller then one of her newborn cousin and is about the same size as her other premature cousin

You have nothing to worry about, at my sons 3 month check up he was 17lb 8oz. Aslong as your baby is evenly proportioned dont worry. And as soon as he starts to crawl and walk he will loose alot of weight

At my daughters four month she was 11lb 6oz and 24inches. the doctor said that she is perfectly healthy and she eats like a pig so i guess she will just be tiny.

My son recently had his 4 month checkup as well and was nearly 21 lbs and 28 inches long! He is a big boy! wearing 9-12 mo clothing and almost too big for his carrier car seat. He was breastfed and supplemented with formula for the first 3 months and is now soley soy formula fed and has recently began cereal and veggies. He's always been a hungry boy, hence his size!

My son's 4 month checkup was on May 9th, and he weighted 19lbs 11oz, and measured 28inches!! Hes always been a little piggy, ever since day one! He is a very active baby though, so no doubt itll burn off in no time once he starts crawling, which he does, but backwards!

My son was born 7 weeks early at 3 lbs 12 oz and 16.5 inches, but at his 4 month checkup at 19 weeks he weighed 12 lbs 12 oz and 23 inches. He's still relatively small but definitely catching up!

Wow- Good size, healthy guy! My daughter at four months was 13.8 lbs, 24 in. My kids usually stay 50% percentile so it's pretty normal for us, judging by our two daughters... Boys are totally different though.

My daughter was 12lb 9oz at her 4 month check up. I don't know her length.

However, she was born on the 9th centile and weighed 6lb 4oz at birth. She is still in 0-3 month clothes comfortably.

My daughter was only 12 lbs. 12 oz. ...only in the 35th percentile. Doctor didn't show any concern, but reading all your replies, I guess she is small for her age although that was at her 4 month check up and she is 5 months now. Not sure how much she weighs, but can tell she has added some weight...getting those cute chunky baby thighs :) Plus she started sleeping through the night a week ago...YAY!

Chrystal, Your baby should double their weight by the six month check up. My daughter was born on January 25. She was 8'9 when she was born. At her four month check up she was 16lbs 6 ouches and is 24 3/4 inches long. So your baby is a tad bit bigger but, I wouldn't worry too much. Your baby will lose the weight once they start crawling.

Hi Crystal that is big in the percentile chart however, those are almost the exact measurements of MLO at his 4 month check up.

my girl was 16lb 8oz and 25.5 inches on her 4th month visit, she's a big girl in the 90-95% for both. she's been in 6m clothing for a while now, but seems to have leveled out and not grown too much this last month.

My son is 4 1/2 months and he was 18oz 4lb (8.27kg).He has always been on the 75th line on the weight chart. I think as long as they stay on the same line (more or less) then you are doing well. The other babies will catch up.

My daughter just had her 4 month check up and she was 13 lbs 9 oz (between the 50th and 75th percentile which is normal)...but 'I know someone else who breastfeeds as well and her baby is only 3.5 months and she is already 17 lbs (95th percentile)! She looked a little chunky for that age...but they say you can't feed your baby too much breast milk....if you are feeding him formula or something, just ask the pediatrician if you are giving the right amounts...I just started supplementing with some formula and rice cereal - she wants to eat all the time because she is growing so fast. I think every baby has their own rate of growth; my brother was born at 10 lbs, so I don't even want to know what he weighed at 4 months! He is now 6 feet tall and skinny!
