Hello, I ask this question because i'm getting various responces from friends and co-workers. I have a 3 month and 9 day old daughter that weve been feeding 3-4 ounces every 2 hours. Is this too much? should we be waiting for every 3rd or 4th hour to feed?

My son is 4 months and he ate 4 ozs. every 2 hrs till he was 2 months then he started eating 5 ozs. every 2 hrs...now he eats 6 ozs every 2-4 hrs. His morning bottle and his last bottle at night gets cereal in them but that doesn't reall help him stay full. But I feed him whenever he's hungry but I also give him alittle baby food.

my son is three months and he eats 4-6 oz I also feed him cereal at night to help him sleep better during the day he eats every 4-5 hours wait till your baby is telling you that she is really hungry not just the aggrevated cry the really hungry cry then start the meal other wise the baby wont take what she needs and will want more sooner

My girl was 8lbs 9oz at birth and started at 2oz every 2 hours the first week and progressed from there.
She is now taking about 7-8oz every 4-5 hours except her 1st morning food... she sleeps at 9 or 10 and wakes up at 7 to take about 3oz and sleeps another 2-3 hours before she's up for the day.
Every baby is different. Just feed when they're hungry. My girl takes a few ounces I burp her and wait about 5-10 minutes before she decides she wants the rest of it... some take it all at once, and breast vs formula feeding can also cause variations.

my son is 16 weeks today, he does 4-6oz bottles (formula) every 3 hours, last feed between 7-8pm and will go through till 7-8am, he used to do 4-5hourly feeds but he wanted to sleep more at night, so now I give it to him on a 3 hour basis, I now also give him a little baby rice once or twice a day to help prevent him from playing with his bottle!! at one stage he was draining 8-9 oz bottles, but I think that was because he was going longer between feeds. but after a little trial and error, i started to figure out what my baby wanted!!

I don't know if you're nursing or not but I'm going to guess not so this info may not be helpful but i'll put in my .02 anyways :) I nurse my son sometimes every 5 minutes it seems!! other times he'll go an hour, 2 hours, 3 hours and even 10-12 hours at night! My point is just feed him when he's hungry :)

I've been feeding my son 4 ozsince he was born and just recently up-ed it to 5 oz ((he's 16 weeks)). Some days he'll eat every 2 hours and other days he'll eat every 3-5 hours. Feed your daughter whenever she's hungry. Watch her not the clock and you'll find that you both will be happPr

My daughter eats quite a bit! She is almost 4 months old and eats 6 ounces every 3-5 hours. Her pediatrician says that at this time of their lives children go at their own pace. Feed them when they are hungry and take away the bottle when they are full. Is your daughter satisfied with the 3-4 ounces? If she will take more, give her more, and she will be satisfied for longer periods of time.

my son is 3 months 8 days& he eats between 4 & 6 oz @ a time. Anywhere from 2-4 hours. Depends on his naps. Then he usually nurses once a night for a brief period of time & sleeps rest of the night. He weighs about 12 pounds.

My baby is 3 months 2 days old and he eats 4 ounces every 3 hours. We tried to up him to 5 ounces, but he just cant keep it down very well. He sleeps through the night with just 4 ounces. No cereal or anything. (keep in mind though he was a preemie, so it may vary for normal babies.)

My son started taking 4oz every 4 hour at birth, he weighed 9lbs 11oz the heavier they are the more they eat, he is now almost 20lbs and he eats 9oz every 4 hours and has only 1 feed at night :)

my daughter was drinking 4oz every 3-4 hours since she was 1 month. Now that she is almost 4 months she is up to 7oz every 3-4 hours and we just started cereal. i know that she is a piggie compared to most babies her age but i got the same responces that i was feeding her too much. two tips i do have is
1. if she is hungry....feed her not matter how often or how much.
2. don't take the bottle away at 4oz if she is still sucking. let her eat until she is full and turns away on her own. also, after her last burp try seeing if she wants any more. sometimes Desi seems full but after a good burp or two she wants more. there was just too much gas in her tummy

I feed my daughter when she is hungry. She is 3 months and two days old and she eats 5-7 ounces ever three hours. At night I'm giving her cereal and a bottle at her last feeding so she will sleep through the night. I did this with my first daughter also who is now three years old. Every baby is different but I would still feed them when they are hungry. Sometimes my daughter will go longer than three hours but she always seems to be hungry. Maybe you could try waiting the three hours and see how it goes. Good Luck!

My son's about 16 weeks and eats about 4-6 ounces every 3 hours. Typically a 3 month old eats every 3-4 hours, depending on if you're feeding formula or breastmilk (nursers usually eat more often).

my daughter is 14 weeks old and she drinks 30 oz a day including her 1 night time feed :)

hope that helps. also she takes 6 oz at a time which gives you more time in between feedings, but it also depends on her weight my daughter is 13.6 pounds, so maybe just ask your doctor.
