my babies always measured ahead of time, but that's just an approximation. I don't think you should be worried at all. My second baby was measuring almost 9 pounds at the last ultrasound and came out at 6pounds 14 ounces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am 16 weeks measuring at 21 weeks. The U/S has proven that the baby is on track for being 16 weeks, there is just an excess amount of fluid causing my uterus to be much larger than expected. My doc isn't worried at all.

I am measuring a little over, am 34 weeks now and have been measuring consistently over since 28 weeks. I am not worried - I was born 10lb 5oz and my mum pushed me out with no problems!
Measuring over could mean anything from extra fluid to fibroids to baby's position before you even get to what size the baby really is.
Also remember - the size that an ultrasound says the baby is isn't always accurate - things like amount of fluid or the thinckness of the layer of fat on the mother's abdomen can distort the measurements, so only take it as a guideline.
Last thing (sorry, I'm rambling, but I work in maternity care so I can't help it!!): to Lisa who says you have small hips - the size your hips appear from the outside has nothing to do with how big the opening in your pelvis actually is, so you don't need to worry too much about that.
Hope that somewhere in all this there has been something someone has found useful :-D

I did. My little girl measured two weeks bigger than according to her due date. But my husband and I are tall/big people.

I'm sitting at 30 weeks and I am measuring at 34. My midwife isn't concerned as I have a shorter torso. She hasn't even mentioned sending me for an ultrasound at all.

my dr hasnt told me the exact weeks im measuring ahead, but i know that im measuring really big. I have an ultrasound on dec 2 to determine when they need to induce. with my 3 yr old she was 9lbs and 11 oz 1 week early, wich caused her to get stuck during delivery. with my son he was 8lbs 7oz 2 week early and i had low amnio fluid. so to avoid complications if the ultrasound shows a big baby we will induce 2 weeks early

I completely understand. I too am regularly a small person :) . I am at 31 weeks and have been measuring at 35cm for the past two weeks. I was wondering if the date's were wrong too. But, my Dr. explained that it could either be that you are carrying extra fluid, or yes you are having a big baby. Ask them to send you for an ultrasound to find out.

2 wks ago @ my 28wk checkup I measured out to be 32cm...Now that Im 30w idk what the doc will say. I go tomorrow to find out! However, my due date is still the same..my baby just measures a little bigger than normal..He weighs probably 3.5lbs by now. So it just depends. Plus I asked my doc awhile back if the mother was born w/a semi-high birth weight & the father was born at a large birth weight, will it be likely for the baby to big...he said there's a 90% chance that they will. So I have a feeling my baby will be a 8-10 pounder

i measured about 2 weeks more than i should be, however its my 2nd baby and i measured big with my daughter also, and she was 2 weeks early and weighed 6 lbs 14 oz, so im not too worried am gaining weight like i should be so im sure its not a big deal the dr doesnt seem to worry so im not worrying either id rather a bigger healthier baby than a tiny sick baby.

I was told the same thing and he was a normal size on the ultrasound. His father is 6'2" and was over 8 lbs at birth. I guess I will have to wait to see just how big he gets. My doc is not concened about my measurements now that the us came back normal

I have no idea if I am measuring big myself, but my doctor has told me my baby is measuring big and I have another ultrasound next week(at 28 weeks) to check her size. I know my dates are all right, so I guess I might be having a big baby! Looking forward to seeing how big she is now. I was born at 28 weeks and only weighed 1lb 13.5oz...so I'd rather she be big, full term, and healthy than small and preemie like I was.

I am 29 weeks and at an ultrasound last week the dr said the baby was measuring about 17 days ahead of schedule! I hope the baby comes early rather than be a very large baby. Only time will tell I guess:)

at my last two doctor visits ive been measuring 4cm bigger then what would be expected, my doctor has told me it will be a big baby - aaahhh! haha. He's also said that if the growth margin gets bigger he'll send me for an ultrasound to see if its too big to fit out of me lol im hoping it wont come to that!

i had a growth scan today.baby is measuring the right size so must be me storing extra fat lol

at 24 weeks I measured 28 weeks, now at 28 weeks (next week) I have an ultrasound to check... BUT your belly measuring big doesn't mean a big baby.. you may just have extra fluid or she could have just been sitting really forward...
