Hello -

I purchased used Advent baby bottles from a lady before finding out that some people are apprenhensive about using used baby bottles. What do you think? I am torn if I should use them or not. I did research on it and am still torn.

I'm sure they'll be fine if you just sterilize them and buy new nipples. In all reality it's just a cup as long as it's clean I see no harm in using it.

used bottles i would yes that should be fine, as long as they are properly sterlized and you don't see anything wrong with them, such as a small crack or chip. i think it should be fine as long as you buy new nipples

I would make sure they are BPA free. If they are more than 2 1/2 years old they probably have BPA in them which is a chemical in the bottles that break down when put in high heat, such as microwarve, dishwasher or sterilizing in a sterilizer. I had all advent for my daughter who is now 2 and ended up throwing them away when she was 11 months and buying some cheapy BPA ones for the last few months of bottles. Since then I know Babiesr us and several other stores only carry BPA free ones. Advent does make them BPA free now so the ones you have may very well be, I would just ask if they were.

I guess it would you know who had the bottles before you? If so, you would have a better idea of how well they were taken care of. I would suggest, if you do decide to use them, make sure you either buy a bottle sterilizer, or boil them for 20 minutes before you use them.
