My daughter shares your babies birthday. :-) She eats meats (chicken, turkey, ham) and yogurts (yobaby with peaches and sweet potato, and a variety of gerber ones) and she also has eaten cheese but only in jarred babyfood. I think it was risotto with cheese. The other day she even tried a tiny piece of grilled chicken.

I would say to start with yogurt. The texture is thicker then traditional baby food and it will prepare her for the thicker texture of the meats. And since most yogurts are fruit flavored it will be a familiar taste. Then from there, try chicken, as most babies love chicken. When I started chicken I used the chicken with apple so she could adjust to the taste. Good luck!

Mine was born on 01/11/10 and we started my son on cereal at 1.5 months. Then by 2 months he was eating bananas and other fruits. By now - 7.5 months - he will eat fruits, veggies and meat. And LOVES it! He was 6wks early so if you adjust his age for everything it was almost at birth cereal, 2wks for fruits, and like 3-4 months for meats - if not earlier. But the doctors say he looks very healthy and is very strong for his age. Developmentally they cant tell he was even preemie - outside of his weight - hes only at about 15lbs right now. He hasnt been sick or had any problems. As far as cheese - I would hold off for a little while. Some kids if eat too much dairy can later on have problems with being lactose intolerant. But yogurts - go for it! Your pediatrician will give you some advice but every child is different and your doctor only sees them once every 2-3 months. Do what you feel is best rather than listening to them to the tee. If we had waited - my son wouldnt have any meats until he was 9 months+ and he loves them now. So I say go for it.
