My daughter is 5 weeks old she was eating very well for the first 3 weeks, now she eats 3-4 oz every 2-3 hours during the day sleeps through the night just fine, but from 9pm to 12am she acts hungrey every hour to the minute. And she doesnt give up i don't know if she's not eating well, or if she just wants to latch on to fall asleep! whats the deal?

my son is also 5 weeks old and he has the same thing. he just cries and cries and i thought it was just my son but apparently it seems to be a comfort issue.

Mine has problems a little earlier, but it's definitely comfort... I think she has mild colic too though. The only thing that helps her is to suck/nurse. She doesn't take a pacifier most of the time, but I can't be nursing for hours on end so I just have to let her cry and try to comfort her in other ways between nursing.

Both my 3 year old son and 7 week old daughter did the same thing. With both of them it wasn't hunger it was more of a comfort thing. I found that if I gave them a pacifier it helped a LOT! I also read a couple weeks ago that pacifiers are also supposed to help decrease a child's risk of SIDS so there's a plus.
