JEALOUS!!! Mine is JUST now getting used to tummy time, starting to roll on his sides, but not completely over (think it's due to fear of his tummy still), sits semi-assisted, is still trying to figure out his arm muscles, but has such strong legs. He kicks like crazy, grabs things with a firm grasp, babbles and blows raspberries, and tries to pull his head up like he's doing crunches! Haha He's been sleeping 8-10 hours though the night. But now that he's teething, may wake up halfway through the night wanting that soothing bottle or teething ring ( he HATES pacifiers!!!).

Wow Delaney, that is great. My Ryan has been rolling from back to stomach since he was 16 weeks, but can't quite go brom tummy to back yet. He got his 2 bottom teeth about a month ago and sleeping around 8 hours straight. Laughs a ton and babbles all day long. I think every baby is different and it is best to judge normal on a range. I try not to compare only because some babies do things earlier or later than others. My daughter didn't roll over until she was almost 6 months old, but got her first 2 teeth at three and a half months old and laughed at 3 months old. I love being a mom it is so facinating to watch them learn and grow.

Shelly, my daughter turned 5 months on 6/11. She can't roll over either. She'll do tummy time for about 5 minutes before she puts her head down to her hands and just sucks them and whines...She loves to stand. When I get her to sit, she'll straighten her legs so she ends up standing. I just think she'll be walking before she can crawl, which is fine by me. Also she's not on solids yet so I hope when she does eat solids, she'll be able to sleep through the night at least.

Hey Courtney,
Henry hates tummy time (most of the time) too. I just make him do it for little bits at a time, because I know he needs to to strengthen his neck/back, etc...
My baby has reflux though, so being on his belly is uncomfortable for him. Usually he does it in the mornign with no prob. Anytime during to rest of the day he just whines. I envy that your baby can sleep/nap on his belly. Henry did that ONCE. He just keeps crying and squirming until I get him finally. Just talk with your dr. You should've had your 4 month appt. already, so if the doctor says he's good, then I wouldn't worry. Just like what someone else said on here-babies grow at different rates. I wouldn't quite label him as 'lazy' quite yet. :) Shoot! I was reading some other posts on here thinking 'Man, their baby can already sit up unassisted!' Henry just flops over when I try that. But it's ok. Because I know that he will learn to sit up when his muscles are ready for that. Your baby will learn these things too.

Courtney, I wouldn't be worried at all. The average for rolling over is 5 months old, so just try increasing tummy time! If his weight were an issue, his doc would've mentioned it. And also, babies do things at VERY different times! He may not walk until he's over a year, which is perfectly normal. Only very few babies walk before 10 months or so. Your first was just a little more accelerated! Nothing to worry about.

Twelve pounds seems to be on the small side. But if you already talked to his pediatrician, then he should be fine. If you haven't, I would talk to his pediatrician just in case. Drake was like that when we brought him home, he would hardly breastfeed and he would sleep a lot, we had to end up changing him to bottle fed with breast milk.

Should I be worried. Wesley was born on the 29 of January. Hes 12 pounds, only has formula. Does not dit up or roll over does not even want to try. When on tummy for tummy time he will cry for five minutes and go to sleep. When hes awake he coos and laughs and smiles. You can really get him laughing when you talk or tickle him or when one of the older kids is being silly. He sleeps from 7pm till 8am has a bottle and back to sleep till 10am. He sleeps alot at night I know but he is up watching from 10am till 2 down for nap till 5pm up till 7 eats and off to sleep. He was a month early and he is awake a lot more now then he was he used to be up an hour a day. now we are still waking him up and keeping him up to play, but does not even try to roll. My almost 2 year old at this age was trying to stand and my 6 year old was walking at 7 months. I just figured he is lazy, but should I worry?

I put a mirror on my baby's side to give her something to gaze at on her tummy. I also kept putting her there every chance I had and gradually she would spend more and more time on her tummy. Now that she can roll over she wants to sleep on her tummy.
